Spade Neutral Newbie November 6, 2005 Share November 6, 2005 (edited) hi, attached is a basic guide on the differences of intake configurations. I'm sure a lot of people already know or can add to the info, but it's here for the noobees (of which I'm still am, but this is my understanding so far). if somebody could post a basic guide on the difference between supercharging and turbocharging, and why an 2.2L NA Vtec could possibly beat a turbocharged car, it'll also be good! Turbonetics 2nd Gear November 6, 2005 Share November 6, 2005 (edited) a 2.2litre NA Vtec can only beat a TC car for pick up only... and also have to depend on the weight of the 2.2litre car... and what TC car is it???? it won't outrun the TC car in long run.... Thumbs Neutral Newbie November 7, 2005 Share November 7, 2005 hi, attached is a basic guide on the differences of intake configurations. I'm sure a lot of people already know or can add to the info, but it's here for the noobees (of which I'm still am, but this is my understanding so far). The diagram is too simplistic and ignores the amount of R&D the car manufacturers have done to the car. Did you know that the Porsche Boxster's intake tract is tuned specifically to that car not just for performance but also for NVH? The material used, length of intake tract, size, and many other factors all add up. I know someone who spent 400K USD to test various intake setups for Porsches that were competing in Baja and they only made 2 bhp more than stock over a rev range of about 1000 RPM. Everywhere else they were worse than stock. ↡ Advertisement
