Elantrahatch Neutral Newbie November 7, 2005 Share November 7, 2005 I don't think there is any legal 4-2-1 extractors. It is illegal to change your extractor as well. For my car (matrix), it takes around 2 hours to fix up and around S$50.00 (minus the original price for the 4-2-1). Its quite easy to detect but unless u remove ur cat, the smell from the exhaust is not obvious. Inspections most likely will fail..
Lanceteo Neutral Newbie November 7, 2005 Share November 7, 2005 1. theres no legal way of doing this 2. highly unlikely to get caught at road block for this 3. inspections 100% fail there are ways to get it done.. everythigns not a crime until u get caught rite? hah

Mercur1al Clutched November 7, 2005 Share November 7, 2005 aint there legal 4-1 performance/racing extractors?
Gexer Neutral Newbie November 7, 2005 Share November 7, 2005 4-2-1 should range btw $450 to $600 for iron pipe. stainless steel will cost $150+/- extra. there is legal 4-2-1. this will only be those cars that already comes with 4-2-1 setup. any mod on extractor is illegal. this implies to high flow cat too. but there are ppl who got 4-2-1 approved by LTA. as long as your cat is remain and not replaced by a dummy cat. LTA are more strict to cat than extractors. also 4-2-1 does not always means good for low end. it is still depending car to car basis. AT and MT are totally different. MT 4-2-1 (improve low end) 4-1 (improve mid & high end) AT 4-2-1 (lose low end. good at high only) 4-1 (improve low end and a "good enough" mid and high) TC & SC 4-2-1 (best) 4-1 (bad) dun flame/quote me. this is what i believe and i am sticking to it. Spade Neutral Newbie November 8, 2005 Share November 8, 2005 i honestly misunderstood, I thought most cars come with 4-2-1 configurations stock, why change from 4-2-1 to 4-2-1? does it make a difference? I look at my car and I see 4-2-1...

BMW320i Neutral Newbie November 8, 2005 Share November 8, 2005 For NA below 2L, you should be looking at pod filters, 2 1/4 inch S/S catback exhaust with hi flow cats to fully maximise the benefit of the extractors. Go with tuned length with heat wrap. ↡ Advertisement
