Doc, wonder what will happen if JTA gives up on the Skoda dealership???

For me, it is more like a good news... can go for all out mod cause excuse will be 'No distributor what, how to get original parts?' [:p]

On a serious note, I do hope JTA can find some cash injection and turn things round.

BTW, will you be getting any VAG tools?

If the franchise changes hands there could be issues for those with cars still under warranty. However, I expect that any new franchisee would be practically obliged to honour existing warranties even if they aren't legally obliged to. The loss of goodwill and the subsequent outcry from owners left in the lurch will be extremely damaging to the brand. I don't think Skoda will allow that to happen.

According to the article in the Business Times, JTA has secured two lines of credit from two Taiwanese banks. They are also negotiating a tie-up with a financing company to help underwrite their COE bids.

Nah, not getting any VAG tools, at least while the car is still under warranty. I prefer to use my meagre vitamin M resources for other things like a modest upgrade to the ICE, maybe a rear wing and front spoilers, suspension kit, and maybe an unmentionable go-faster mod.

Hi Fabiaman

Don't think there is a chance of getting the car before CNY. Have visited their showroom today and was told by my SE that the cars will only arrived somewhere mid Feb!!! I book my vech in early Nov 01 and was promised a delivery somewhere early Feb. Now guess I'll have to resign myself to be without a car during CNY 8-(... Have lost confident in JTA.... Any advice on what other avenue to take now other than cancelling the order which most would advice against it?

Hi All,

My SE called early Sun morning. Since it was an early call I was expecting something +ve but he maintained that the best was delivery on the 9th morning (the best the mgt could do) although he sounded a little discouraged. Since this was no better than what was already commited the day b4 and that my CNY planned is ruined I decided to cancel my booking. BTW I'm still sticking to my contract as it was stated in my Sales Booking for 'delivery before CNY, colour - diamond silver'. He acknowledge this fact and advised that it takes 4-6 weeks time to refund my deposit although I can sensed that he's hoping that I accept JTA offer.

Two hrs later just as I was on my way out to hunt for another car hopefully to get one b4 CNY my SE called again. This time I was pleasantly suprise with the new development. Although JTA still maintained the delivery on the 9th but they are offering 'diamond silver' - the colour of my choice. With this new offer I'm happy to go ahead and also the fact that if I would be breaking the contrant if I don't.

Despite that I've to make adjustment to my CNY plans, I'm actually quite happy with the latest development - a positive spin in the end if you like. FYI all credit should go to the SE as he managed to convince another buyer to swith the colour. As what I can see JTA mgt did not do much to try to salvage a potential loss of a sale.

If JTA mgt is following this thread I hope you can improve on your service level and slowly build up the support offered to your customers. This is a great car and has good potential. I've read so many reviews in so many countries and I've yet to find any that tells me otherwise. Most of the the SOG in other countries are generally happy and contented lot (judging from their forums) and if you put in the right effort I don't see why Skoda owners in Singapore should not feel the same. My general feeling from the feedback in this forum was not so much the technical or performance aspects of Skoda cars but mostly service related issues. Have you not realised that such forum can turn into a powerful marketing tool in itself?

I think enough is said and I'm looking forward to drive my Skoda...........

Hi Bobby,

I think I've met you at the polishing session with Dr. D.

Don't worry, you will collect you before CHY as I have collected mine Octavia last year @ CNY eve.

Mine deal almost fell apart as yours did, as the SE said they cannot retain the old # plate. But I guess the management will do their best to please the customer.

Congrats to getting your car and the color of your choice.

Mine's also silver

regards

Hondaskoda,

I think you must've mistaken me with someone else. I've not join any of the weekly meet-up session before. I'm actually quite new in this forum. I hope I could in the future after I collected my Skoda though. Looks like JTA likes to push things to the very last minute. They did not allow any room in case of any hiccups, unless their workshop opens on Sun and during CNY eve.

Hi Bobby,

Congrats on your car! I'm glad things managed to get sorted out. You can be sure that there was a lot of behind-the-scenes brainstorming to find a solution. [;)]

Congrats on your new car. I too dealt with Edward (but didn't buy for

other reasons) and had a positive impression (he was customer focussed

and tried hard to put together a package which would appeal to us), and

your account bears that out.

This was in Nov last year - we might even have unknowingly bumped into

each other in the showroom.
