that means you have a heavy foot Car_Man.

the air con will contribute to loss of power and therefore your engine needs to work harder. from the second notch onwards you can hear the rough engine noise already. but with heavy foot, it will be profound even for passengers.

no. I maintain at 2000rpm but when engin is hot 2000rpm cannot change gear

leh. Have to rev about 2300rpm then change. So in between this the sound was very loud.

Even my wife oso say y so loud. Is this normal

wait, heavy footed does not equal to going beyond 2k rpm. it describes the amount of force applied to your foot, which transfers the power to the accelerator pad to achieve the desired rpm to engage gear changing mechanism.

If given ample time, the auto gear box should initiate gear change at 2k rpm (normal mode). But your description suggests that you were steppin a little too hard/fast for the gear box to react. Hence, the jumping rev.

this engine is definitely not as forgiving as Jap ones so be a little gentle with the first 2 gears. After that, the real fun is when the car achieves it's cruising speed.

I could be wrong in your case. But had any SA technician test driven your car?

Hi Bro one more thing to check with you. Is there any difference between the tornado cable cable and 8 point grounding cables? [dizzy] ANd any recommendation, i wish to install Denso iridium spark plug,Voltage stabliser and the cables.is that enough to at least let the car move off more easily [wave]

Sorry bro, I've not installed any grounding cables and voltage stabilizer as I'm driving a manual as they aren't really relevant for me.

They are more suitable for cars with auto gears like yours but please expect no marked improvements in any area.

Yes, a good spark plug will give perceptible improvements in engine smoothness but strangely, you'll only feel it during the first few rides and after that the feelings seem to fade.

Denso is not necessary the best for your car, let your workshop advice you on that.

That said, your driving habit is still the key to make your ride enjoyable unless you are willing to spend thousands of paper dollars to tweak your car the way you like it.

I've just hit 14km/l with my Aveo on 15" wheels with no mod on the car except resonator removed and it's all because of me getting better at adapting the car then the other way round.

If the mileage is still low, it could be due to running in.

Otherwise, it's a clear indication of 'heavy footed syndrom'.

try to be gentle with the first few gears and you'll see marked improvement in fuel consumption.

Who and which person tell you that. I can help to rectify the prolem, PM me

- Voltage stabaliser do help in reducing the engine noise and smoother ride too, but the improvement is that great

- Grounding Cable do help,in sustain way

- Air combustion enhancer will be a great diff

- Torando cable is a spark plug cable (lower spec) but compare to Sanwa SAE grade (better Grade)

- Cyclone also do help is the FC and air intake

- Cold air intake > engine noise higher and need to REV harder and FC not too good.

(but to extend the resonator intake will be good)

- Fuel Mag is another gadget that also help in FC
