Hi, anyone cares to talk more about these 4 differences in LAY MAN TERMS >..

what I know is that for Mivec and Vtec they are using 2 cam profile where at 5500 RPM (can be adjusted) it kicks in and open the 3rd cam to allow more fuel and air to combust ... is that true?

But cannot find anything for VVL leh ...

By the way anyone know which car in singapore using VTEC, Mivec, VVTi and VVL ?

Some of the codes here are for cars from other countries. And some of the codes u see overseas are for models not brought into SG.

Bro, you should copy a message from the end of the thread rather than the beginning. This list still has a lot of errors which were corrected in the later messages.

Eg. There is no such thing as an ES9. [rolleyes]

You're right there's no ES9, didn't even check before i post, sorry for the error wink.gif

well just to share,

the first production vtec engine is in a nsx, and later

to a 1.6L in the 89 CRX called the B16A, 160hp. not available in singapore, only in japan and in certain parts of europe. i used to own a crx but it came with a DOHC no vtec called the ZC (130hp).

my last one is a EG9 '93 VTi which came with a B16A2, i guess its a 2nd evolution of the A, same output power. but i think there were subtle differences, not sure what.

It will be benefical for all Newbies (or nuts; like me [blush] ).

[thumbsup][thumbsup]

Cheers [:)]

Yeah, an FAQ thread or something... that lists down commonly asked questions, so the sifus here don't have to repeat what they typed or plagiarised [laugh] from other websites again!
