When you driving and and press brake to slow and accelerate again and during this interval the transmission change to a lower gear with great force. I;m easy with my foot but the changing to a lower gear was not very smooth and this problem occour only i had flushed and change my auto oil. Cbx750p 1st Gear January 6, 2006 Share January 6, 2006 I would think that the workshop that performed the flushing and change of the AFT have not used the correct transmission fluid, i.e. Dexron III . If they have used anything else, GOOD LUCK to you ! Using the wrong kind of fluid would cause the transmission seals and gasket to deterioate thus leaking to problem with fluid contamination. Cbx750p 1st Gear January 6, 2006 Share January 6, 2006 (edited) What ??? All trans oil the same ??? That would mean that all girls in the world are the same....but they are not ! Same as them, trans fluid is classified into different properties. One of the spec is Dexron. Today, the latest is Dexron IV but your car can use IV or III but cannot use Dexron IIE or II or I ! If you check transmission fluid like from Esso, Shell, Mobil, they all have the Dexron III classification printed on their transmission oil. Mag1 oil from Malaysian Oil Palm Estate transmission... Don't if it is too late for you to change back now but you may want to try. Change is not good enough...you should flush it as it would get about 95% of the Mag1 oil out but gonna cost you a lot of RM ! I dunno wat's this Mag 1 AT oil is but as wat cbx750p explained, our chevy needs dextron III & above AT oil. If urs is not, I suggest u bring ur car to the workshop which have the ATF flushing svc to flush out all the Mag1 & replace with a Dextron III compatible ATF fluid. I didnt see the oil they change only the brand i remenber. think i'm going in this weekend to check wat r they using on my car. Cbx750p 1st Gear January 6, 2006 Share January 6, 2006 (edited) Say here in the Aveo's owner's manual that you would need Esso JWS3309 or ISU Dexron III. Did a search on the Web but no such listing for the Mag 1 ATF fluid. Could only find the MSDS for this product but no one else in the world seems to be using it or have anything to say about it. Cbx750p 1st Gear January 6, 2006 Share January 6, 2006 Yeah...that is where I found the MSDS ! Seems like this little known company ( WARREN DISTRIBUTION ) is producing oil products for the market. Sure makes the product sound exciting...MAG 1 ( like in Magnum or Aircraft speed..) I had the same experience in Taman Sentosa. They proposed to change my previous vehicle automatic transmission oil with this oil from Castrol. Read the specification and Dexron was not mentioned at all. Thank them but refused the offer. Pisces69 6th Gear January 6, 2006 Share January 6, 2006 Just to let u know, even different brands of Dexron III will behave differently. I encountered I did a flush once & they used an inexpensive ATF which caused my autobox to shift with a jerk. I had the ATF flushed after some time & replaced with a good quality ATF but soon after my autobox died & I had to spend $2k to have it repaired. Cbx750p 1st Gear January 8, 2006 Share January 8, 2006 Dunno man ! Even a day maybe too late ! Depends on what crab they put in there. Malaysia is famous for it imitation stuffs and it can be a case that you are not even getting the real McCoy MAG1 stuff in your transmission. Pisces69 6th Gear January 8, 2006 Share January 8, 2006 My car had difficulty to engage reverse. I put it in R but the car kept taking longer & longer to start moving backwards when engine is cold. Cbx750p 1st Gear January 8, 2006 Share January 8, 2006 One or more of the clutches is slipping due to improper adjustment or wear/tear, that is why it takes longer than normal to engage and when it does, it usually not smooth coming on with a jerking feeling. Looks like you got a bad deal on your car ! You should insist on proper repair ! Based on your original complaint, you should get the dealer to address your concern. Pisces69 6th Gear January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 Yah, but this problem happened almost 6 years after I bought the car. I don't think the dealer will honour a 6 year warranty. I wud have tried to call the dealer but I think he's not around anymore. The ws told me it is prob a solenoid valve or oil pump problem. Insufficent oil pressure.
