oh, 2.4L.... it's an old engine. only 170bhp.

ya, for same price can buy Bmw 523.

those who buy audi usually hate bimmers and mercs,...

There might be a new engined A6 2.0Turbo FSI coming, priced below the 2.4. This is the one to go for, but not sure if Premium Auto is bringing in and when.

Hi Toyotaman,

Last I heard, the A6 2.0 TFSI may possibly be launched in May/June this year. Specs have yet to be confirmed. [nod][nod]

Thanks for the info, I'm considering an A6 2.0T FSI once I'm ready to sell my A4 2.0MU. The warranty expired after 3 years and it's getting expensive to maintain, little things are starting to break (eg glove compartment lock, bonnet strut, wheel bearings, ignition coils, coolant hose, etc). Also cosidering an A3 2.0T FSI but space may be a problem..

When I last spoke with my salesman from Premium Automobile, the A6 2.0TFSi was supposed to have been launched early this year but the launch was delayed due to some unforeseen circumstances. The price quoted to me at that time for the A6 2.0TFSi was estimated to be around S$165K, which is slightly below that of the A6 2.4 litre. [:)]

Do take note that the horsepower of the 2.0TFSi engine in the A6 will only be 170Bhp, and not the same horsepower as that of the Golf GTi (ie. 200Bhp), although they are the same engine. [:/]

Btw, the new 2.4 V6 version is 177 Bhp/230Nm and its a upgraded version of the previous 2.4V6 engine.

The upcoming A6 2.0 Turbo FSI can tune easily, PA offers turbo tuning in-house for customers so the 170 bhp is just a starting point... note that it already has 280Nm torque! :)

The new generation Audi A6 runs on their latest 7-Speed multitronic gear box with paddle shifts, tried it and had lotsa fun firing through the gears. Also comes standard with stuff like electro-mechanical parking brake (no more hand brake stick), its got quite a few things which the Merc and Beemers in this range don't have.

expensive to maintain? you can buy parts from xinzhong and have your car serviced at AutoSpritze /Servo. Expensive if maintain at PA, dude! [:p]

Mmmmmmmmm....... not really lah! They love Mercs & BMWs, but they love Audi more [angel]

I love your gentlemanly answer, bro. :-) BTW, dun see too many A6 on the road, but its side profile is very distinctive imho.

I think Audi's Multitronic is one of the best in the world, if not the best!

As regard to Electro-mechanical parking brake, the new VW Passat also has this feature. The Passat is full of 'gadgets', but the shape of the car looks 'bulky' IMO. I like the A4 better [nod]
