Yo Genie,

How do I know if my system cannot accept silicates? Read my manual but never say leh....

I brought down 2 bottles of Water Wetter this morning and my W?S advised against using it, claiming of rust problems for some cars using it.

They recommended Mercedes or BMW or something like that. Ended up using 2x 1.5 ltr bottles of the Mercedes coolant. But saw from your thread that it has silicates???

So, now worried if my cooling system can take it?

MB coolant has some silicates. It is not loaded with silicates but it has some. So it may or may not destroy your seals.

Neutral Newbie

The new MB coolant i bought from MingGhee is blue in color, and it states ethanediol, which means ethylene glycol, and it also mention its nitrite-free..

no longer the yellowish G-05 [dizzy]

i can't seem to find more info about it on the web [:/]

I am actually also considering Prestone 5/150 since it is silicates free, apparently also phosphate free, so dont know what is the active ingredient? I know you used this before, but what is your recommended coolant: water mix 50:50 or 30:70?

Hi bro

I am driving a Kia Cerato 05. Would like to seek your comment on which will be a good coolant to use for my ride?

Also would like to seek your comments on whether water wetter is really a better replacement comparing to the other coolant. Can pm me if felt not convi to post.

Thanks a lot.

Waterwetter is better if you have high revv conditions constantly.

Ic. Thanks bro. Think I will try it next week. :)
