hi all.. i own a 2005 Hyundai Accent with auto transmission and what upgrades do u guys recommend? i want the engine to sound loud and sweet :) a few questions..

1) Is the 'Light tune package' from this company called 'McWell ventures' good?

2) Is there any aftermarket exhaust sysetem suitable for my car and how much would it cost?

3) Any other performance upgrades u guys recommend?

Thanks!

engine sound loud that means something is wrong already.exhaust loud or air filter loud still ok.the most basic and most power gain is to change your air intake, exhaust system and ecu piggybag.dont waste money on those light tune package.after market exhaust i suggest you check with fong kim, jeep chee or man exhaust

The more legal and cheaper mod to get that induction roar is to go for any open pod air filter. It works good for auto gearbox [thumbsup]

Air intake mod means changing your airbox intake to one of the following:

1) Short RAM Intake (SRI): which is basically open pod in design. However, due to open pod design, it may result in less power at lower rev, although it may benefit high revs. Generally, these open pod designs are suited for manuals and higher revving engine.

2) Better Airbox Design: Some examples are Mugen and ARC Airbox, which have better flow through design than the strictive OEM airbox, whilst maintaining good power at low revs, but gain at high revs may not be as high as SRI. However, they are usually make/model specific, and may not have a model for Hyundai. Poorly designed airbox may also have heat soaking, resulting in less power. However, excellent designs like Mugen and ARC result in much better performance than OEM.

3) Cold Air Intake: It's like SRI, except it draws cold air by usually positioning the open pod near a cold air source, e.g. air wheel arch. Generally gives better performance than SRI, but may be water logged when flooded with water.

A general application SRI Open Pod is the HKS. Easy to replace mushroom head design.

After you've done your intake and exhaust, then do ECU tuning. Simple ECU tuning is usually a piggy back design with simple air fuel ratio adjustments. Better ECU tuning will include performance mapping and timings.

For Accent, I suggest just going for a simple HKS Open Pod Intake, and a simple AF ratio tuning. May add an exos if you want a more sporty roar. However, the open pod will give a good engine roar already.

Hi there - Im oso driving an accent - LC2

1) The light tune from Mc*** is only worth it if u go for the POWER MAX - emanage piggyback.

However note that emanage mostly for JAP cars - dont think Mc**** has the mapping for accent - to do it properly they need to spent at least 1 day to find and map

2) An Open POD will give a dull sounding exhaust - doesnt really sound that nice

if you are looking for a nice sound, you gotta go for exhaust systems like Remus or Sebring. go club hyundai for more info

3) legal upgrades will not really give more performance - throw in a snail and u will see gains immediately

If you have no budget, go for HKS. Enclosure and filter cost at least $200 plus and above for 150 mm. After which, go to Fong Kim for the necessary pipings, adapter plus installation. That will be separate cost.

Cheaper alternative will be Apexi open pod which cost only $80, again go to Fong Kim for the necessary installation stuffs.

If you got spare cash, change your muffler like what bro tankie suggested. Again, less budget will be Sebring, follow by remus without cert, and of cos the remus that comes with cert.
