Raymansg 1st Gear June 7, 2006 Share June 7, 2006 eh, I thot Preceda (altho made in Thailand) is better than GR80 ? I am upsizing my rims soon and I am not decided on either ... yet. But GR80 not sport tyres rite and that means a softer sidewall ?
Tyreboy Neutral Newbie June 7, 2006 Share June 7, 2006 yes you are right, normal usage 2 years must change....high usage 1-1.5 yrs must change....remember the only contact btw the road and the car is tyres....so until one day someone invent a car that can float otherwise dun stinge
Law_ong Neutral Newbie June 7, 2006 Share June 7, 2006 Yes, the preceda PPS2 is available in S'pore...i'm using it now...still scrubbing in.I've also used the Preceda(1st version & Japan made) & GR80 before. Comparing with GR80, the preceda(1st version) is softer & offer better grip. Also GR80 tends to be noiser after sometime. Only downside with Preceda is the price....the PPS2 is damn expensive...was told almost same price as Pilot Sport. u find preceda offer better grip? i still on it and i dun like it...the only benefit is it more durable... Slowly Neutral Newbie June 9, 2006 Share June 9, 2006 Yes, Preceda definitely better. Try GR80 on wet & you'll know. Now i'm using Preceda PP2, find the aquaplanning better than the 1st version.
Law_ong Neutral Newbie June 9, 2006 Share June 9, 2006 I have not tried GR80 but comparing my current precedas with my former st115...it not good enuf except for the durability...
Xcstacy Neutral Newbie June 10, 2006 Share June 10, 2006 Me just changed GR-80. Find it quite good for a normal driver, but hard to say for "chiong" type drivers.
Kelpie 2nd Gear June 10, 2006 Share June 10, 2006 Hi Bros,Have anyone here used these tyres as above? I would like to know more about them, before decide which to change.... which is better? Comfort - GR80 or Preceda? Quiet - GR80 or Preceda? Traction (Dry) - GR80 or Preceda? Traction (Wet) - GR80 or Preceda? Please advise.... They are of different class. You should be comparing GR80 with Michelin MVX8. Regards,
Carmodz Neutral Newbie June 10, 2006 Share June 10, 2006 (edited) yay!! glad u took my suggestion and changed to V8!!! Power right these babies!!! Told ya liao, worth every single cent one. But those chiongsters type of drivers, may not find the grip at high speeds sufficient. Sometimes at bends at abt 90 to 100, i can feel the soft side walls flexing. but no choice, comfort and performance cannot always go hand in hand with each other Edited June 10, 2006 by Carmodz
Shaguar Neutral Newbie June 16, 2006 Share June 16, 2006 Hi does anyone know which model is newer primacy or preceda?

Carstyle Neutral Newbie June 19, 2006 Share June 19, 2006 Check the sticker on the new Preceda PP2. The new Preceda has the letterings PP2 in a small red rectangle. The thread pattern is also different from the old Preceda.
Shaguar Neutral Newbie June 19, 2006 Share June 19, 2006 ??i'm confused i mean i just changed to a new pilot premacy (not preceda) the date of manufacture on the tyre says DOT.....0404 its 2yrs old. Just wanna check if it's reasonable that i got a tyre that's 2yrs old
Furrynadz 5th Gear June 19, 2006 Share June 19, 2006 nope its hardened by now change it
Carstyle Neutral Newbie June 20, 2006 Share June 20, 2006 I think you should go back to the tyre shop and asked for exchange. No tyre shop should sell you tyres that are 2 years old. ↡ Advertisement
