Hi Bros, recently got into the Getz trend of cars fever.

Was wanting to get a Getz 1.1M or 1.6M. But after reading some pros

and cons of the 1.1M like no power windows, ABS and airbag. I got a little

Sceptical about it. Not because im a unsafe driver but i just prefer to have

this as a safety feature. Just in case type of mentality. However, I read that

the pickup isnt good as compare to the 1.6M. Perhaps need some of ur comments

if i should get a 1.1M or 1.6M. FC wise im a little confused. Some say 1.1M better

some say 1.6M better even when rather light footed. So i presume i will take an aggregate

value. Thanks bro.

Bear in mind 1.6l is more expensive, drinks more, higher insurance and rd tax.

What are your priorities?

Basic transport or a powerful car?

true, u r right. however is it possible to fix up the car with these

ABS, powered windows etc.. My priorities are not so much on the $$$ side.

but of course in the long term although $$ draining, but safety also v impt.

thats why i feel the ABS v impt. As for the powered windows, its just for convenience sake...

Yes, you can, but then again it defeats the purpose of getting a budget car to begin with.

all i can say is tat the 1.1M Getz is seriously lacking of power...trust me i have a fren who went for test drive on the car b4...if u dun mind to pay more get the 1.6M lor...however if u just nid the car for a basic transport means u might jolly well get the 1.1...

Basically its Hobsons choice [scholar]

1.1 - no power, but cheap

1.6 - Got power, but not cheap

Choice is yours...

should be abt 48k and 52k respectively......the power to weight ratio for 1.6M Getz is reasonably good... [thumbsup]

i would go for 1.6M, reason being it might be a little expensive but it has all the safety features that you require... for example, driving a 1.1L with you in it isn't a bit issue, what happens if you load it..., secondly if you wanna make a trip to malaysia, do you wanna stress the engine of a 1.1L... I know some of the boys here will say, Kelisa also can make it to sillypore why not a 1.1L.... then i would say how much is our car as compared to theirs :)

just my tots!!

yes true, thats actually what im most concerned of.

However, im not too sure whats the diff in the insurance levels lets say i put my dads name, since im not over 25 yr old. what will be the quotation for the 1.1M and 1.6M. Got Diff other than the increased road tax?

All Getz will have rear drum brakes. I advice you to go for the 1.6 cos the price difference is only $2k!!! Differences, other than power, would be 3 doors instead of 5, 4 power windows, ABS, DOHC engine, Electronic adjustment for side mirrors, Driver's seat height adjustment, and of course, body colored door handles and side mirrors. Road tax differs by around $300+ a year, so not too much a difference.

FC for Getz 1.1 is around 15-16km/l and 1.6 is around 13-15km/l.

I own a Getz 1.6M and my FC is 14.5km/l on the average.

Call me if you need any queries answered.

The insurance for 3dr and 5dr is the same cos the Getz 3dr is not considered coupe nor performance car.
