Yapsf Neutral Newbie June 7, 2006 Share June 7, 2006 How about connecting the front and back speakers to all the 4 channels, then tap on 1 of the channel to drive the bass?
Ivan0507 Neutral Newbie June 9, 2006 Share June 9, 2006 u can do that also.by the way ,what head unit u using, normal,hu come with 2 pairs of RCA & 1 pair of 3"long cable attached RCA .u can used that for your either another amp or bass tube.

Hyun Neutral Newbie June 10, 2006 Share June 10, 2006 most of the installer don't know this ,especially when play with DVC subs.when u connect your JBL600.1 amp, make sure both RCA input is connected ,to make full used of your amp. hi ivan, what do u mean "both RCA input connected" ... 2 RCA (both sub channel?) from HU or 1 sub RCA from HU y-split into 2? connect both to the 2 channels of the amp, then the 2 speaker-level outputs goes one each to the voice coil? how is that different from single RCA into a bridged 2-channel and a single speaker-level output into the DVC in parallel? (this sounds like a similar question: is bridged 2-channel less distortion than just using one of the channels, at the same level of sound power output?) Yapsf Neutral Newbie June 10, 2006 Share June 10, 2006 (edited) I think it comes with 4 pre-outs, but don't have the 3" long cable for bass tube. Is this 3" cable you referring to is the "sub-woofer output"? If I get a HU with sub-woofer output, does it means that I can connect the 4 pre-outs to the amp to drive the component speakers, and then connect the 3" long cable to the bass tube directly from the HU? Happy_nathaniel Neutral Newbie June 11, 2006 Share June 11, 2006 hi, i have a set of original pioneer hu and speakers from hyundai. recently i fix up a 4 ch blaupunkt amp to connect it to a 12" bazzoka sub. but i find that the sound quality are bad as compare to my friend toyota, which is also original speaker from agent. i get confused today when i went down to 2 shop for advice!! 1 shop advice me to change my hu as my hu only have a pair of rca out. but the other shop told me that just change a set of component speakers ($250 for alpine) will do, not neccessary to change hu, it will be better if i change. anyone can advice me? thanks
Kwongwing Neutral Newbie June 11, 2006 Share June 11, 2006 Hey Bro! Didn't know that amps could be sensible Sorry ... couldn't resist I believe that he meant sensitivity Seriously when splitter cables are used, the signal is degraded - resulting in loss of signal levels and clarity suffers too! Do use sparingly and if budget permits get good quality splitter cables where possible.
Kwongwing Neutral Newbie June 11, 2006 Share June 11, 2006 Hi Happy Nathaniel, One cannot dish out advice just based on your brief posting - too vague. The sound you are having in your set-up may just be not properly tuned, though generally stock spkrs are usually the cheapest around. I also drive a JDM Toyota - the original spkrs were cut out and the rings used for the backing ring for my current mid-bass driver. Anyway, you should try and maximize the potential of your current set-up before installing anything else. Even when you do decide to install a new pair of component spkrs, come down to the regular meetup, have a listen to various other set-ups, decide what type of sound you like, then go forth and install. P.S. You may not be very happy after you attend one of our meetups and get poisoned though [Today I quite corny!]
Happy_nathaniel Neutral Newbie June 11, 2006 Share June 11, 2006 i have try to toggle and mingle with my set, but din work out. the sound output just like rojak, the vocal not 'strong' enough. in my current setup, there isn't any tweeters btw, u mention abt ur meetup, where is it? i would have agree with u, i should change my my to unhappy_nathaniel after i meet all of u
Kwongwing Neutral Newbie June 11, 2006 Share June 11, 2006 Look out for the thread like this one: http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/gforum.cgi...1385413#1385413 It is on every Wednesday nite 9.30pm onwards at our friend's Nasi Padang stall at the MacPherson KopiTiam Car Park area - see my avatar for the shop's frontage ------------- But you want decent sound have to at least change to 2-way component front spkrs - but a lot of choices depending on budget and the type of sound you like. Ask Slonez for the range he carries - his ride is actually using the HU's outputs to drive the 2-way he has installed - very decent sound. Come by for a listen and make your own choice as to how you wish to go ...
Ivan0507 Neutral Newbie June 11, 2006 Share June 11, 2006 (edited) bro, normally,if you installed an amp to your system ,and whack your stock speakers.stock speakers power is very low.so ,if you installed an amp,you also need to change the stock speakers.if you just want a bit of sound quality.at least get one set of component spk for front ,using your 4ch amp to whack it ,hook up to 2ch for front, and 1ch for the bass tube.rear speaker using HEAD unit to drive it , hu only got 1 pair of RCA output ? ask the installer why need to change the hu? you can used two pair of y-adeptor to hook it up,for your 4ch amp. Hyun Neutral Newbie June 12, 2006 Share June 12, 2006 why ur stock+sub worse than toyota stock? 1) maybe the stock they give u really jialat compared to toyota. 2) maybe urs overall is better BUT the sub not tuned to melt together with ur fronts/rears. that might make the sound terrible. and even your rears might not be soft enough to complement fronts. perhaps ur fren's toyota stock system has such adjustments made. of cos get front components will be good. whether to change HU or not, do a simple search for "budget" systems here and see which are the priorities.
