Greeting,

My drive has been very smooth during the 1st week of collection. However, after that period, it (sound like the engine) become very rough and noisy whenever I accel.... 2k rpm sound like > 3.5k rpm.

Complaint to serving centre but after checking, feedback no abnormaility, so bare with it.

After my 5k servicing, the car was back to smooth/quite drive again.

This doesn't last long again. Same, 1wk later, the drive was back to square (rough and noisy when accel).

Is this due to poor engine oil or filter is dirty? Anyone out there can give advise?...thx a lot

Kianbeng: Not sure if anyone mentioned abt the idle control valve? A idle control valve thats clogged with dirt and carbon will function less well to properly adjust the idling. Turning the idling screw wont have long lasting effect if your idle control valve has gone bonkers. Happened to my 323 last time round.

Manytimes....when my fuel tank is at the 1/3 empty mark....the engine start to feel smoother and more powerful. The lesser fuel weight is one contribution, but the smoothness cannot be easily explained.

idle control valve are usually found at the throttle body. It is a motorised component that helps maintain good idling.

Depending on car make & model, most can be serviced by using spray cleaners. If you dunno how to service it, better leave to your mech to service for u.

If I dunno how to service it, the best is to buy a Hayes manual and look thru it before servicing it.

No pain no gain! [;)]

Just not long ago, I DIY my own Engine error code reader. It's all fun I think. But must have time. [:(] Few years back I DIY my own speakers with high low pass and all these learning experience is very valuable. But then again, must have time to go google it.
