what do you mean when you say a wheel is a 3-piece wheel?

 

what are the advantages of being a 3-piece wheel? toughness, durability, weight or design?

 

was browsing AUTOart and got curious, they have some nice rims.

3 pc wheels consist of the spokes, the lip and the wheel itself...

 

its original intention is to allow modular customisation for wheel setups, makes it cheaper to buy components than to buy another wheel for fitment... as well as for repairs from damage...

 

for usual everyday use, it will not offer much more than asthetics....
