so far quite lucky.... only kanna 1 really bad jam last fri at ECP near keppel was really bad meaning stop move 1 metre stop and move... only got better near rochor exit where i exited back to office... think Mz3 1.6 worse nitemare is congestion as the stop move stop move really kill the FC due to it heavy chasis... if we knock off early already planned will go have dinner nearby before we hit the highway so as to siam the congestion

Btw, I think m3 stock rim size 1 inch bigger than altis, so it's unfair to compare.

if m3 & altis have same rim size, then who knows, m3 could win in FC.

Some time ago on MCF, someone did say why m3 have supposingly poorer fc.

He said m3 drivers are typically youngsters who tend to chiong more & altis drivers are normally family-man sedate type who have more conservative driving styles.

Food for thought, huh? [laugh]

Maybe... but i bought the Mz3 for its good looks and stable and comfortable ride.... so i no chiong esp just got license... so now whenever possible will drive at 80km / hr on highway... but if see behind car driving fast will switch to left lane let the car behind overtake before i switch back..

Yup, I try to avoid congestion as much as possible. I think a person driving in congested traffic is slower than those in public transport, esp MRT. [shakehead]

Now I know why OPC cars are getting popular. [laugh]

The worst jam I faced was on CTE towards bedok during off-peak hours(abt 2-3pm) No accidents or whatsoever, I really dun understand why there's still a jam at that hour. [:|]

In fact, our mz3 dun like stop-start & jams as everytime we accelerate from standstill, the engine has to work hard to move heavy body. [sweatdrop]

Bro,

I got my M3sp in december 06,

Up till now, my best FC is only 10km/l

I tried to be very light footed e.g. maintain within 3k rpm but it is still like that.

further more the 10km/l i got it when i do not care about the rpm.

Can someone tell me why?

But so far, i am super happy with my ride,

I used to drive a diahatsu charade that eats like 8-9km/l

Really? I didn't notice cos gear change so smooth after gear 3 onwards. [laugh]

But I notice gear change from gear 1 to gear 3 not so smooth after 5K svc. [:|]

Agree with U... think Mz3 strength is travelling at 80km and above that is when is smooth.... below 60km/h is bit sluggish esp when moving off due to heavy chasis and underpowered engine.. (1.6) so have to try as much as possible to plan the route so that to avoid congestion and go highway.... to be frank... taking mrt is often faster or equally fast when compared to driving lah....

wow, u are heavy footed. i kept mine withing 2.5K rpm

Me too as far as possible within 2500 rpm... with occasional 3-4k rpm but that is rare only when going upslope and car like sluggish... so far 1st tank FC is 11.2km.... after pumping to full tank last fri nite, had travelled 210km (shooting from east to west to bai nian) on ard 17 litres (estimate slightly more than 1/4 tank) so FC is ard 12km/litre....
