Neutral Newbie

I'm new to detailing, so I'm wondering if the following sequence is suitable:

Wash -> Claybar -> ColorX -> Cleaner Wax

Do give me guidance. [sweatdrop]

It should be Wash, Clay, ColorX, Sealant or Carnuaba Wax. You don't need a cleaner wax cos ColorX itself works as a All In One product. It cleans and protects.

Thanks. Guess I'm gonna keep things simple: Wash -> Clay -> ColorX -> Wax.

For wax, Deep Crystal System Step 3, Nxt Tech Wax and Nxt Spray Wax, which is good to go with ColorX? And also gentle on the elbow grease, hehe.

Lastly, couldn't find ColorX in the 06/07 Meguiar's catalog, is it out of the line this year round?

ColorX has been around long time ago. You can use NXT tech wax the go with colorX. You will get amazing showcar depth and shine and minimal elbow grease. NXT spray wax is a booster wax only. It doesnt last on its own.

Bro, I wouldn't apply SG after wax. There will be bonding issue. You can try this:

Wash > Clay > AIO > SG (12-24hrs) SG (12-24hrs) SG > 1 week > Wash > Wax > 1-2weeks > Wash > Wax

Maddriver and Coltagius,

ty for the FK 425 MD, and Coltagius for showing me more on detailing and sample of CG to try.

Today I was grounded at home for running around too much yesterday.. Ikea > Eunos > Sembawang > TPY...zz

so I cannot go to the detailing section hosted by MD. dead.gif

But able to sneak outside my carpark and do some cleaning.. nod.gif

Results and some unsure facts..

After washing with Auto Glym Body Wash Condition

, i run my palms across the panel and feel for rough spot

After feeling the rough spots, I claybar it with the help of some water

After claybar, I will dry the car sparking clean and dust 99% free.

But the surface is not butter feeling...

I then apply K-AIO. Method is 2-3 strokes, and use a clean MF cloth and wipe it off.

Then after finish the above steps, the whole car is wipe ONCE with K-AIO.

Then I will apply K-SG over the car and leave it cure for 15mins.

After the whole car is cured, 15mins later i will use my MF cloth and wipe off the K-SG.

quite hard to wipe off, I use the FK 425 and clean it off easily.

Using the FK 425 and the whole car should be car and reflective look. Glossy and some wetness.

But the surface is still not butter feeling...

After that, I use the Carnauba Wax, wipe on and off like how I apply the K-AIO. 2-3 strokes, and use the MF cloth to wipe it off.

But the surface is STILL not butter feeling.

What is wrong with me ?

Yep, you won't believe the amount of crap a humble piece of claybar is able to remove. [cool]

Your paint will feel squeaky clean and silky smooth after claying, ColorX has cleaners, polishes, and waxes in it, all in one. You can go straight to yr LSP after using this product if you want to. [:)]

LSP means last step process. The last thing you coat your paintwork with, like wax or sealant.

SG means sealant glaze. Usually referring to Klasse's sealant glaze.

Maybe we should start a sticky thread for all the abbreviations in detailing.

Cheers
