Hi

Anyone driving 3-door car? Isit a big hassle to put infant or young child if the infant/child seat is behind?

Can share your experiences? Thanks

Its not a big hassle if your children can walk by themself...But its a big hassle if your children can't walk by themself and when they sleeps behind, you will need to crawl to the back and carry them...

Big hassle to get in and out of a coupe. The rear roofline more often than not does not offer much headroom. Its really a pain in the a$$ for tall guys.

First hand experience from catching rides in my neighbour's Integra GSR.

some small coupe cant even fit child seat. Make sure u physically try putting the seat on b4 committing.

3 dr car, so me always got reason not to send pple home. My 3 dr car back seats are totally useless, unless chop off the legs.

Only young once, so if u wan 3 dr, go for it now. Miss this chance and u will nv re-live it.

hard top cabs will have its fair share of prob in time to come. So usually owners sell in abt 3-4 yrs. Think abt it, ever see a hard top cab thats old?

IT IS NOT A HASSLE LAH.

A 3 Door is actually MORE convenient then a 4 door.

If you have a 4 door -

Action 1 - Open back door - put barang / Kid - close back door.

Action 2 - Open front door and enter car - close door. [thumbsdown]

If you have a 3 Door -

Action 1 - Open Door - Put Barang in back seat, enter car - close door. [thumbsup]

The big doors ( which are absolutely nice and chunky ), once opened, there is a nice big gap between the front seat and the pillar - I can just put my bag / groceries / any barang in the back seat without haveing to open or close a back door.

There. [thumbsup]

Having only owned 1 four door car out of 5 cars, i would say that putting a child in the back seat might be a problem with rearwards facing babyseats. The rest of it should be fine. I've also noticed with lower cars in addition to the lower roofline of some coupes (e.g. my rx7 and 180sx), my mom did have issues getting in and out even with the front seat but she had no problems with the Ford Ka.

i think once the kid grows older (and HEAVIER), it'll be more difficult to pick or place the kid on/off the child seat. especially a sleeping child.

actually i would say better for parents with little kids to use 3 doors.

when u throw your kids behind.. u no need to worry they play with door, as they only got their pants zipper door to play with.

but having migrated from a mini to a CRV with v-teck... :p

it is definately easier to put kids in the baby seat as compared to my mini before. it can be quite back-wrecking to put your kid into the baby-seat in a mini. :p

The reason I asked is because before my current first baby, me & [gorgeous] seldom use the back passenger seats maybe once or less per month....the baxk seats is like new condition even though my ride is coming to 6 years old [sunny] . So I'm not sure a new addition [grouphug] to the family will change things.
