Ambient temperatures have very little effect on engine temperatures on start up unless it is winter. When the engine is running at it's supposed operating temperatures, ambient temperatures have very little effect again.

Tracking is another condition and this is not caused by ambient temperature again but by increased operating temperature and hence better protection or rather more importantly resistance to fuel dilution from higher viscosity oils is better.
