Hi all Bro would like to check whether have any Bro have install this equipment(BRAKE BOASTER) in their car? Can describe the effect it have on the brake and car. All opinions are welcome btw is it worth to install it at $120???

think refering to GNG aka vacuum tank that's connected between yr brake hose...

 

it'll make yr brake feel more solid rather than spongy, also claimed to improve throttle response and fc.

there's a safety aspect involved too cos if the brake booster fails or springs a leak due to lousy installation or maybe the hose punctured, then u're screwed cos yr brakes depends on vacuum to work and if vacuum is lost, u wont be able to brake much, so u might be saying hello to a tree very soon if the brake booster fails..

 

better think twice ah..

think one of the ways is change to steel braided brake hoses, or change to better brake pads. think most ex method is to change to 4 pot calipers.

Got money, anything is possible...so far no VOGS member installed 4 pot yet...my vios also not so hardcore for a 4 potter....

on my previous ride, I have installed steel braided hose, and indeed, braking improves. You might want to consider that.

Brake booster I have not heard before. If its those GNG...forget it. Dun believe it and dun bother to try.

 

You want to improve your brakes, you can try the following options.

 

1) Better brake pads

2) Steel braided hoses

3) Slotted brake rotors

4) Brake stopper

5) Better tyres.

6) Upgrade brakes system

i) Change to a bigger brakes from same make (eg. Civic to Integra)

ii) Change to bigger system (Endless Brakes, Brembo etc...)

 

Brake stopper is a piece of specially design metal brace (for specific cars) that bolts to your brake master pump against your strut tower. This min flexing of the firewall during hard braking....so your brakes feel more positive. But you must be stomping on your brakes before you feel the effect.

There are proper products out there, eg. Brake Stopper kits from Cusco

 

 

It attaches to your engine bay and pushes against the brake master pump to prevent it from moving forward while you apply pressure during braking. This reduces the sluggish feeling associated with some brakes and thus improves the overall braking of the car.

mine was done in JB. the brand is Pro-RS. I believe there are whopshop here that carries this brand too.

heard that the steel braided brake hoses actually only improves brake response. Coupled with a pair of good street brake pads, ur braking power should improve over stock. If u want, can change bigger rotors also. Best option is to change to a big brake kit la..but damage is a couple of Ks depending on the brand

actually this brake cylinder stopper thingy is not difficult to DIY if u observe how it works. Just a solid bracket + bolts & nuts + a good drill shld get the DIY nicely done.
