Friendstar Supercharged February 19, 2007 Share February 19, 2007 My stability concern is when moving fast around curves on expressways in singapore. I drove a RAV around PIE curves at >80km/h and I must say that the height of the RAV did make me feel like toppling over (lucky it didn't) when negotiating curves on expressways. comparing jazz to others sedan/hatchback, its shape is slight on the vertical side. anyway the slight unstability is what my friend told me as he driving one. btw I am a localised local, truly singaporean. =) yes airbags and ABS are equally important. points noted. your points on kia cars are good and true enough I am not considering sunny, altis or lancer. must have reasonable fc too. I am not considering honda too. I prefer japan factory-made too. I love conti love and design and with good reliabilty. ---> therefore ... I have shortlised down to 2 cars. mazda3sp & kia rio. My brother in law just bought a SGR blue mazda 3 sp. he changed the front grille and rims. i must say it looks stunning. But he complained of poor acceleration, maybe not run in yet. Six_ghz Neutral Newbie February 19, 2007 Share February 19, 2007 Thanks. yes probably I should compare Rio with Lancer/Vios if I just look at price. Because I factor in the period of design model and the outlook of the car together with FC and price. Vios is out because it's really the least spacious car and not that refined. built not solid enough. Lancer is ok with it design but it's very outdated and engine is noisy. my gf feels it's ah beng. Altis is too common and outdated model with normal design by toyota with made all models similarly The new Rio has quiet cabin and new and refined interior with comes with cheap price thou without airbag and some other stuffs. (Not test driven yet but my neighbour has one) M3 has very good design and solid built, good equipment level like ABS, front rear disc brake, LED lighting, aerokit, nice dashboard, but with slightly higher price. (Test driven and loves the handling) Latio is also priced same or lower as M3 but is very well equipped with digital climate control, ionizer, dual airbag, very good FC, very quiet cabin, and one of the latest model. (Test driven, loves the quietness but do not like the CVT) Difficult to decide, any other recommendation? My head will go for the Altis. My heart may go for the Mitsi. My wallet will go for the Rio. My a*se (and limbs) will go for the Latio. My current outstanding balance will make me stay with my present ride!

Rickster 5th Gear February 19, 2007 Share February 19, 2007 Then get China cars... most Chinese use use "outdated and old" Mitsubishi engine... so is "proven"
Rickster 5th Gear February 19, 2007 Share February 19, 2007 U're right. A rio is far far from a european feel, though the outlook is designed by europeans. When i drive my dad's Megane II and my Rio HB...its a world of a difference! Esp when u go above speeds of 80km/hr or do any hard cornerings
Application9999 Clutched February 19, 2007 Share February 19, 2007 (edited) yes...hard to find something to beat a true european car. A small hatchback can compare or even better then a large ''luxury sedan'' in other makes... Once your driven a conti car....u never go back to an asian car... Ninervictor Neutral Newbie February 20, 2007 Author Share February 20, 2007 unless u drive a merc, bmw or audi, other conti are just look good but may not drive good in long run... singapore is a very small market for these euro cars to care about... many conti cars warranty only free 1 yr while jap cars free for 3 to 5 yrs... speak alot about repairing needs in years to come...
