when we leave the car at the workshop for 2/3 days for repair, what liability do the workshop cover ?

1. the mech take the car for a sprint and crash ?

2. the mech take the car for a nightout and rev till cows come home ?

3. the mech smoke and dirty the car interior ?

seems like end user is left with no choice and leave everything to the workshop how they want to handle your car.

the only think i did was record the milleage when i leave the car at the workshop. anyway, they can debate that they need to do a few runs to test and tune the car as part of the repair work.

thanks

This is possible. One time I was at one of the big names "C*S" doing some aircon servicing. I manage to take a glimpse into their work bay, which is normally not accessible to customers. I noticed that one of the car's audio was on very loudly.

The engine might not be on, but if running the audio on batteries alone, it is also not too healthy for car too.

If this can happen, den running aircon full blast is not unusual.

I make it a practice that I will watch when the mechanic service the car, so I won't visit any of those workshop with customer lounge unnecessarily. If no choice got to leave the car overnight, den I will leave it at the mechanic's mercy. I think recording mileage is a good way to know whether they misuse the car...
