Owen_fan 2nd Gear March 20, 2007 Author Share March 20, 2007 Don't whether is it call brake rotors TC told me that they changed the front 2 rotors, because after they skimed it there are 'crock crock sound'
Pisces69 6th Gear March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 (edited) Such a new car got warped rotors?????? But if they changed the rotors, they sud not have touched the engine or idling speed. Unless 1 of the mech itchy hands & adjusted it higher Anyway 800 to 900rpm is quite ok for a car to idle, when warm, in neutral & all the electricals & AC off. U sud not have too much vibrations in N,P or D with brake foot brake applied. If u experience too much vibrations, get TC to check again & mention that it seems like someone has adjusted the idling the last time u were there. Of course they wil deny it but at least they will put more effort to check it properly & adjust it to a better level. Most important is no vibrations when u use the car, especially when U stop at the traffic lights or when in neutral. Pisces69 6th Gear March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 because after they skimed it there are 'crock crock sound' ====================== They prob did a farked-up job on skimming the rotors which caused them to crack. Very surprising such a new car got problems with the rotors. They usually last as long as the car (abt 10 years).
Owen_fan 2nd Gear March 20, 2007 Author Share March 20, 2007 That is why I go back to TC and make a lot of noise and they replace 2 new rotors.
Pisces69 6th Gear March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 But I can't u'stand how come the rotors can spoil so fast. Most cars the rotors can last upto 10 years & scrap.
Thug Clutched March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 900-950 sound normal to me. No to be alarm. Cold start will cause idling on high rpm too...but graduately drop...
Dipstick Neutral Newbie March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 Have send my car back to agent to replace my rotor yesterday. Now I notice that my rpm is at 900-950 rpm when station, before that it is at 800rpm. Any thing wrong? If your ride is in stock condition, then engine idling rpm should be as per owner's manual. So, check you owner's manual. Usually it's between 700 - 800 rpm or thereabout. 900 - 950 rpm seems a bit high after the engine has warmed up. Pisces69 6th Gear March 23, 2007 Share March 23, 2007 Throttle body no need to change. Just clean. Use a carb cleaner & spray into the throttle body same as the instructions on cleaning a carb.
