Hi Alleycat,

If water is clear in colour and does not look or smell like oil, then i would think its the condensation from the airconditioner.

To reassuare yourself, monitor it over a few days, and check your coolant, power steering oil, engine oils, brake oils etc, and if none of these seem to be going down, then you should be fine.

Last but not least, you can bring it back to your car dealer to verify it.

AlleyCat....what car is it?

open the bonnet and see where is the aircon pipe.....the portion going into the inside of the car........drive the car one day and see if the water is dripping from there.....high chance aircon condensation....

it is a mitsubishi colt. i a newbie, not sure abt all these. i know old cars always leave a " pool of water" when they r left in the car park. i am wondering issit normal for a new car like mine.Cos my car only few weeks old. for the past few weeks i don encounter " the pool of water" .i just noticed it when i park my car yesterday cos it seems to leave a trail of water droplets on the floor. Anyway the amount is very little only. I even suspicious whether issit because due to the heavy heavy these few weeks which makes the under carriage "wet" ~~~ [dizzy]

Anyway. my concern is that if it is aircon condensation. it is NORMAL for a new car? thks for those who answered my query~ [:)]

it is normal lah.......if its condensation.

the temp in the pipe is much colder that the external temp not to mention that it is in the bonnet.......so normal for water to form....if you can confirm that its from the aircon pipe...you are safe.

I guess the main concern is where the "leak" is coming from.

So before you move your car, look under and see where it is dripping from.

Usually if its the aircon, the water drips will be behind your front wheels, closer to the passenger compartment.

Do check when you have the chance and let us know?

just pop up yr bonnet after driving and u will see the air-con pipe is wet due to condensation and the water will drop thru the engine bay and coz the pool of water [;)] its normal [cool]

Don't have to worry. If you can describle it as a "pool of water" and if it doesn't looks like oil or coloured water , i bet my last dollar its air-con condensation [scholar]

In fact, the more water created from your air-con condensation process, means that your air-con system has been in tip-top condition [thumbsup] You will have to start worry if theres no water coming out from your air-con condensation hose situated usually at the undercarriage or just sticking out from your engine compartment firewall.

From your description, the other possibility of the "pool of water" might be the radiator coolant from your "New radiator". Which i don't find it possible to leak at this stage, even if you have a hard knock at the undercarriage. [sweatdrop] Do you see any increase in the car temperature guage lately?

Yes, new car's air-con do condense as well. Especially when you park your car after driving on the road for some time.

Dont have to worry my friend [:)]

Cheers,

Like what the others said...you need not worry much. Likely due to air-con condensation.

Mit Colt, huh? Care to post some pics in our showroom folder? [sly]
