How long do I have to wait for new paint to settle?

wanted to edit my comments earlier on

but was rushing out so did not have time

 

wat happened was that my fren called me up

and chat. he's a paint expert of sort.

 

he informed me that paint had to be harden/ 'sand'

before they can return to the owner. the harden process

depends how much hardener they mix with the paint.

more harden, paint dry and harden faster but not

so nice. vice versa. so this need to be almost perfectly

wat happened after is that they will use compound to

go over the car.. 'compound' is almost like wet

sandpaper!!!! to smoothen the surface, i think

 

so.... if it can/ had been sand after the painting

we should be able to wash and wax without any issue..

About 1 day or so to settle. About 3 to 5 days to fully set.

Actually, paint shops already start to wax your car before they return you your ride. So the best is still to ask them for advise for the type of paint that they use.
