just curious, rim scratches are quite common here, wonder if they are such a thing like rim protector or something like that to protect your rims from being scratch, just like those bumper protector

it helps but is not foolproof. usually, "sporty" tires tend to have it. exception is aspec dB which isn't "sporty" but seems to have rim protector too [;)]

saved my rims a few times, but one particularly bad scrape.. [shakehead][bigcry]

not much use ... if you kena kerb, any kind of flange also useless. Take a look at the big cars, most of them have bad scratches on the rims. Drive carefully ard corners ... best way to avoid damaging yr rims. Best protection, I think is to get a tyre with profile 55 upwards ... small kerbs will only kena tyre.

I think it's choosing the right tyre width for your rims that will make a difference.

For example, I kerbed my rims badly at the narrow Customs lanes at S'pore 2nd Link Immigration facility - was on 215/45 R17 tyres with 17" 7.5" wide rims.

Have since changed to 225/45 R17 tyres which match the 7.5 wide rims better - rims less exposed and more protection from tyre wall.

But of course, different tyre models have slightly different degrees of protection.
