Freshmaker Neutral Newbie April 24, 2007 Author Share April 24, 2007 actually i know sticker is illegal... but i can argue that my front bumper forbids me to mount a nromal number plate... now i really want a chrome number plate for the rear.... but a bit worried cos heard the combination must be same... i.e color of base, color of fonts, etc... a bit worried the number plate will get me into trouble with my other "more expensive illegal parts" LOL
Jacf Neutral Newbie April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 a few days ago, just saw a car with stickers licence plates.. at first, i was like 100m away behind this car when i realised i couldn't see the nos on this car's licence plate (at night).. so i thought that the licence plate must have dropped.. then as i went nearer almost 2 cars length behind, i can see the licence plate but no numbers on it.. .. then when the car slowed down due to slow traffic ahead, then i can see that the numbers on the plate are 'stick' on..(obscured to light) i know why stickers not allowed on licence plates.. Sure can get away with crime quickly cos it's really hard or damn difficult to see the numbers on the plates unless less than 1 m away..
Chickenbackside 1st Gear April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 Chrome and sticker all illegal. And trust me, TP WILL catch you if they see you... Ask me how I know.

Huggable Clutched April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 Not sure about bumper forbidding the mounting of a number plate, but uncle sam will have the final say. As for the "combination", it's not true that both front and back must be the same color. Apart from the boring white on black, or silver on black, you can have black on white in front, but black on yellow (ie different) at the back. If your car already have illegal mods, why attract them even more with the plates? LTA/TP are very on-the-ball during this period. actually i know sticker is illegal... but i can argue that my front bumper forbids me to mount a nromal number plate... now i really want a chrome number plate for the rear.... but a bit worried cos heard the combination must be same... i.e color of base, color of fonts, etc... a bit worried the number plate will get me into trouble with my other "more expensive illegal parts" LOL

Tjy87 Neutral Newbie April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 chrome and stickers are all illegal... hmmm... as for your argument that front bumper does not allow normal plate, i guess it is definately out of the argument.. Cuz all car dealers are supposed to ensure that the car has a proper "legal" number plate on the front bumper and the rear before sales. As for the front and back colour, i tink to play safe, juz use both black background colour ba... since normally chrome numbers is used with black background... I'm using chrome plate for both front and back... front is juz use double sided tape to tape it on.. both black background... kena ROV stop for super tinted windows.. but they see my plate, also nvr do anithing.. guess i'm juz lucky.. Huggable Clutched April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 It comes as a package. If you're stopped for illegal number plates, chances are, your boom tailpipe, dark tint headlights, tailights, windows, HID, GT wings, slick tyres, eyelids, all will be taken note of, and fined accordingly. Seen 2 black Lancers, Evo wantanmee caught by ROV and TP on the expressways on 2 straight Monday mornings! The white ant would stop you, walk round the car, pop the bonnet, and have a nice chit-chat with you too! Are you the one driving the sticker number "plate" EG Civic with HID and racing clutch? Chickenbackside 1st Gear April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 Yup. But that one small problem. Problem is it will lead to other things. Other bigger things if you have them.
Huggable Clutched April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 Heard that nowadays, even the white+yellow acrylic plates, which was in use for decades, have been banned. Only the white+yellow emboss plates are allowed.
Teriyaki Neutral Newbie September 4, 2007 Share September 4, 2007 how come sticker number plate is not legal? I check LTA website, they didn't say it is modification which is not allowed. ↡ Advertisement
