Nutty 4th Gear May 21, 2007 Share May 21, 2007 Several schools of thoughts here. For me, I'll start engine, after 5 secs, move off slowly. Drive gently for about 3-5mins, the drive as per normal after that. ↡ Advertisement

Tiger21 Clutched May 21, 2007 Share May 21, 2007 I drive off immediately upon startup, plus my latio (CVT) dun allow me to ramp beyond 2k rpm till the blue light dissappears (Engine cold light). This usually happens early in the morning (6am). So probably it had some inbuild safety feature.
Yjhlouis Neutral Newbie May 21, 2007 Share May 21, 2007 For new car, I think it's does not require any warm up, just move off gently, the car will warm up itself after a short distance. ↡ Advertisement
