Slowmo Clutched June 19, 2007 Share June 19, 2007 Hey, if it translates to lower premiums overall, will you go for it? It sure beats 'one size fits all' sort of policy that certain bodies likes to implement, in my humble opinion. ↡ Advertisement
Flameevil Neutral Newbie June 19, 2007 Share June 19, 2007 Actually all drivers have the same amount of rights irregardless of whether he or she drive an OPC or not. The different is just that OPCs can only be driven during non-restricted hours. Whether the OPC cause an offend or not, just let LTA settle it. The fine is just so hefty that think not many is willing to risk it. As for driving around in a MSCP, like to the washing bay, think it didn't cause anyone any problem at all. So why not live and let live. the problem is those OPC "haters" as we call it dun like it
Flameevil Neutral Newbie June 19, 2007 Share June 19, 2007 I am not angry. Why should I be? I am just letting you know to be responsible of the consequences of any stupid suggestions. If my office is in CBD and I need to sit in office the whole day, I will not drive. If needed to, must be claimable through the company expenses then it justify me owning the ride. Not for ego or little convenience in exchange for big in-convenience, eg. arguing and hoping cheng hu would change their mind about their policy, cheating on coupon, worry about forgeting to put valid coupon. I don't hate OPC, but detest OPC offenders. Get it? These people will cheat on coupons, what other thing they can be honest about? I am sure when you own OPC and abide by the rules, you won't like it too when you see someone making illegal use at the restricted hours without coupon? So that must be the same for normal plate, so there is no discrimination. Please don't try to give yourself an illusion that there is actually OPC haters and create a war amongst ourself. some ppl juz dun understand wad we wanted to say the moment they see detest OPC offenders , they onli see "detest OPC" and flares up

For me, premium isn't the only thing when signing up for any insurance. But frankly, I'll definitely look into it if such schemes are offered

Windwaver Turbocharged June 19, 2007 Share June 19, 2007 Well, to me, it's not a matter of OPC or not. I've seen a fair share of reckless normal plate drivers. Reckless drivers must be punished, OPC or not don't matter. So what if a person has a car? I know of many that has a car but 0 savings, some even owe the bank $$. Then what about those taknig public transport (i.e. Bus, MRT)? I know at least 1 director who earns more than a quarter of a million taking public transport. I do agree that all that who breaks the law should be punished, be it OPC or not. There're more & more reckless drivers on the roads these days. Droll Neutral Newbie June 19, 2007 Share June 19, 2007 aiyoh why is this discussion still going on? it's quite clear already the conclusion - to each his own. some wanna report - go ahead. some dun think it's worth reporting - go ahead. but all this about not tearing year, month etc, omg, there are other more effective ways to cheat with the OPC coupon if you think about it. i'm not condoning cheating but there will always be thieves and dishonest people. no amount of arguing and discussing here is going to change that. Elina Neutral Newbie June 20, 2007 Share June 20, 2007 Agree with you. To each his own, let the relevant authority do their job and let the cheating ones continue to do so at their own risk. I do not understand why there are so many "red-eyed" non-OPC owner. mayb they are too free or mayb they should apply for a job in the gov body. pls end this discussion... enough already. Memory Neutral Newbie June 20, 2007 Share June 20, 2007 A man's wife is dieing and someone with the medicine to save her life is not willing to part with the medicine unless the man pays him handsomely(need to recup R & D cost wat). The poor man got no money to do so. If, you are the man, what would you do?(you only have 3 choices though) 1) let your wife die 2) die with your wife 3) steal the medicine to save your wife. Please live in the present era. But I will still faithfully answer your doubt. If the one with the medicine wants to sell me a extremely expensive medicine that claim to save her life, I will not buy it, for I don't want her to be a guinea pig to try out the medicine, who knows it makes her suffer, and die faster, worst still, is just a paracetamol in a different form. Instead within my budget, I can let her try other means, instead of relying on one that claims is miracle medicine. One that can safe can also kill at the same time. If that is really really the only one medicine available to cure the illness, perhaps I will get a reporter to write up on our plight and thus all problems will be solved with the media attention. So I will not take any of your options. Stealing will never be my intention as any desperate solution, as it might not necessarily solve the core problem, but will add to problems to the suffering in the long run. ↡ Advertisement
