Leaving Key in Ignition

Does leaving key in the ignition in the off position for long periods drain the battery? this happened to my friend who lives in landed home and i wonder its due to that.

Some cars (eg. those with immobolizers) when they sense the key in the ignition, it will light up the console and/or other courtesy lighting. Might be those that drained the battery.

just a lazy chap i guess and being in landed, he can afford to. its an ignis 1.3, comes with immobilizer?

well, somethimes i do leave my key in the ignition.. switch off radio but switch on my Ioniser to clear any ciggy smell in the cabin. as long as headlight or radio unit not on, then battery wouldnt die one.
