Air filter cleaning

Hi guys,

anyone here try cleaning the air-filter before, please see the attached picture (Open pod CAI), thinking of cleaning it by myself by running water & air dry (more than 40K liao). Will it damage the filter ?

1st step take it out..

 

2nd: unscrew the screws at both end, to allow u to remove the "shell"

 

3rd, running water, or use compressed air gun. i think water is easier to DIY at home n cleaner.. allow to drip dry

 

4th. reinstall n run engine to check/completely dry off the water. dun worry abt those few drops entering the engine.

 

i assume u are using stainless steel mesh? if not my apologies...

 

edit:

 

no it will not damage the filter unless u drop it from 2nd storey or sth. just be careful when removing the shell and installing/uninstalling. these filters aren't made of glass

 

and it won't rust cos it will be wet for awhile only, assuming u run ur engine as per step 4. or u sun it dry...
