Could not agree with you more, the 3rd row serves as "just in case" there were occasions when I needed an extra seat to ferry relatives. The only issue I with the Xroad is where to put a subwoofer. (any suggestions??)

 

By the way, I've decided to put Guyver to the test and have booked a Crossroad from him.

Will keep you all posted when I receive the car.

Congrats for getting the XRoad. You can join the Spore Honda Club forum where there are a fex XRoaders. Putting a subwoofer into the XRoad will be a challenge; when the 3rd row is up, there is only room left for a couple of folded umbrellas!

Thanks Jeffrey for the invite. Yup, the back will be enough for a couple of umbrellas. I was thinking of taking out one seat and fabricating a sub in its place instead. I'm still on the drawing block on this and will keep you posted if I manage to conjure something....life's a challenge isn't it.

I got the LX, actually the "L" would have been the rightful choice for me considering that I was going for the black, so color coordinated bumpers, handles and side mirrors were really negligible the only thing that really mattered was the rear wiper (gotta have a rear wiper on a hatch)as you know the rear wiper only exist on the LX....Haizzzz.

As far as delivery is concerned, Guyver will keep me posted, but the tentative date is in December. (I'm in no rush anyway) I was also thinking of swinging over to Mugen to get the kit for the car.

 

I did consider the 2.0, but did not think that the extra 10+hp and the difference esthetically was not really worth the money, besides can save a little on road tax.

 

 

 

Will keep you guys posted.....so excited

Actually the car (to me at least) looks quite good from the outside. Very chiselled and "solid" looking. The only letdown is the interior; looks like a car from the 90s, very basic and utilitarian.. [:/]

Square but cool. Current looking at wish, stream and x-road. Actually luv the cube looking suvwannabe despite its non existence luggage space and its not so roomy interior although it look kinda big externally. However I was told that this futuristic Honda does not have a spare tyre and all they provide is an electrical compressor. Now that worries me.

Although it has less luggage space, one can install Thule roofrack. But if one need to go the distance a spare tyre is vital.

Still luv its macho and rugged look and I'm actually interested in it but I really have to seriuosly consider the risk.

My wife's XRoad has just done 1000 km. Changed to 17" wheels upon delivery. The 1.8L engine producing 140 ps is surprisingly torquey and pulls away quite nicely. The long wheelbase plus good suspension (strut front; wishbones back) gives a comfortable ride - almost sedan like. For a tall vehicle, it takes sweeping bends without too much lean. It looks big because of its width (accentuated by the wheel arches!) but it is surprisingly short as a 7 seater. Have used it a few times as a 7 seater - 5 adults and 2 kids, and there is enough space to fit everyone comfortably; however luggage space is limited to a couple of folded umbrellas! It is a well engineered vehicle - typical of Hondas.

Just got my X-road recently, actually going for stream until spotted one on the road, looks very macho, so change mind and go for it, then my 'boss' wants to go for the Black Amethyst, no choice, fork out 2k more and book one for ~80K. Initially, worry that the last row looks very cramp (not that i need one badly) and even worst, saw a white one on the road and it doesn't look good to me...

 

Lucky thing, it turns out to be better than expected, the color does makes a difference, getting second looks on the road (you either love it or hate it, simply cannot ignore it) and at parking lots, like its height as getting in and out is comfy without strain to the back.

As for boot space(what boot space?), only some miserable slots behind the last row... but with the two seats down, different story, due to the heights, manage to squeeze in 2 fold-able tables, 8 crates of ~ 2' x 1' and a trolley.

 

When seats up, more spacious than i tot, tried squeezing in 7 adults and 2 kids with no problem, a little cramp behind with 2 adults and 1 kid.

 

Feels is similar to Edix, power wise much better, pick up is quite ok for an auto (used to manual car), handling is very good, responsive but....

 

Very bumpy and quite noisy, FC about 10-11 km/L (no complaints for an SUV), the lag of boot space means every time got to lift / fold seats, and getting in and out of the 3rd row is a pain in the A***. No spare type means cross my finger if and when (touchwood) in trouble, hope i know how to use the repair kit since everything is written in japanese!!!!

 

Overall, love the car but worry about spare parts........
