is it. then I kena con by the toyota saleman already. anyway sold my rolla cos cannot take 95 anymore, pinging and loose power after 4yrs.

 

How come G9 Corolla has this problem? Can not be solved?

Use octane booster. Complained BM and they tell you 'its like that'.

Been driving a Latio Sport for 1 year.

 

No regret, no complain. It's essentially a comfort car.

 

Power isn't that lacking but gotta be realistic with 1.5L engine. With some simple cheap mods (read up SG Latio Club), the engine can be quite responsive.

Few comparison of G9 against latio:

 

G9 soft metal, get ding easily - Latio hard body except the roof

G9 engine pinging - Latio quiet

G9 good pickup - Latio poorer

G9 bad sound insulation - Latio good insulation.

G9 not stable at conering - Latio good conering.

G9 not stable at high speed (>140) - Latio still stable.

G9 interior not as comforatble as latio.

 

I think toyota used to sell well as an all rounder + big name. With better all rounder around, Toyota just need to buck up, especially the attitued of their SE.
