I get the general feeling that the Latio has soft metal as it is very susceptible to dents from other car doors banging into it. My Latio has a few of those dents too.

But I was really surprised that when my Latio got banged, the back car's bonnet was crunched up by around 20 to 30cm, and the front car (yeah, I was the unfortunate one stuck in between) has its boot sunk in. All 3 cars are Jap cars but may be made in different countries.

Maybe it was not the softness/hardness of the Latio metal but really how the Latio bumper was positioned. I guess that because the bumper is positioned higher due to its weird looking high exterior, it actually meant that another car's metal will bump into your Latio bumper which will absorb most of the shock. Therefore technically, your repair bill should be lower since bumper replacement is less expensive than say, replacing the bonnet/boot. Is this trend of though correct?

I had seen an accident between a Lexus SUV and a Comfort cab before. The cab's boot and bumper were badly damaged but there was hardly a scratch on the Lexus SUV. Perhaps it was the better quality materials of the Lexus but maybe it was also due to the high positioning of the bumper???

Not sure if I am making sense here.

Quite true. [laugh]

Do you know if Latio has a side impact beam in its side doors in the event of a side collision?

Sorry and pardon me for my ignorance.

Is Latio based on the same platform as the Megane?

Latio Hatch looks in some way similar to the Megane hatch.

That I do not know. I am a noobie too. [dizzy] But the Megane hatch looks good, though it takes a while to get used to the weird design. The mustard yellow paint looks smashing.
