Meow Neutral Newbie May 17, 2003 Share May 17, 2003 Meow....... Just last wk meows Faby EPC(Electronic Engine Power Control) light came on freqly. Though that engine may affected. But OK, everything fine, no lost in power. Later discovered that brake light was not working. Sent CA and found that brake switch down. According to them, if EPC light come on, that means something is wrong some where. But EPC should be something to do with engine power??? Anyway, for those Fabies, if EPC light come on u knows something is wrong (switches) To monitor EPC light. ↡ Advertisement

" Electronic engine power control .... EPC If the warning light does not go out after the engine is started, or comes on after or flashes when driving, there is a fault in the electronic power control system. A Program stored in the engine control unit ( ECU ) makes it possible to continue driving with certain restrictions - contact a Skoda Dealer for professional assistance. " Now tell what assistance did CA give you.........you make the assessment for yourselves....... Enuff said... I'm not here to make grouses....but doesn't that show u anything ??? Sky8807 1st Gear May 18, 2003 Share May 18, 2003 Meow, Hope your EPC warning lite is just an electrical connection induced fault. EPC suppossed to be engine related or maybe exhaust emission system also The problem with hi-tech electronic is too many wiring and connections and at times give false indication and ended with No Fault Found kind of troubleshooting. All warning light will trigger when the sensor pick up something no according to programme and give an indication of something wrong. Sad but true, CA also not very experience with skoda technology and engineering. They are also new and also learning day by day. If we don't go to them for repair and servicing, then they will be worst off because they will see less problems and gain little on our particuliar model. Unlike, the populiar jap and korean, almost all new cars went back to agent, I'm sure they have many complains and faults, give them a new symptom and they are no better than CA. They appear good because after one car developed problems and solving them, then next become easy, giving the impression that they are good. If agent, with the workshop manual and manufacturer support cannot handle any problem reported, I wander how the outside workshop can solve, must be experience from other VAG car history. This may solve the problem for now. Will it create a hidden potential problem in the near future, anybody guess is as good as mine. Agent price is expensive. Everything have a price. If all of us skip agent maintenance and repair, eventually all will lose. Simple servicing wise, I personally may do it myself, but when they are warning light, I go to agent first then decide what to do next.

Meow Neutral Newbie May 18, 2003 Author Share May 18, 2003 Meow................ Yes. Fully agreed what u said. Especially car that not common in here. If the agent close down then will be in big problem. Just give "a bit" support la. Of cause, simple servicing go outside shop or DIY.
