Sony 1st Gear September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 Which particular brand are you using? Seems like my friend lengthen the process. So it's done once at nite after shower or once in morning and nite?
Macross1 Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 That is an interesting.... anyone with info?
Sportster Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 (edited) Frankly, I did not follow the once a day pattern, sometimes also forget, but I do it at night after washing the hair clean and let it dry b4 spraying/massaging. I am using "Regaine" 5%, which is the only one approved by US FDA for proven hair loss treatment, even my GP also recommend this, but they sell at the same market rate which is about $110 for one bottle. Guardian selling the twin pack 5% for around $160+. Regaine 2% is cheaper. Regaine seems to be the market leader as compare to brand such as Growell, Progaine etc that contain similar minoxydil Edited September 10, 2007 by Sportster
Sportster Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 (edited) Regaine in gel form only for 2%. Unless they come out Regaine 5% gel now. I apply at the crown where the thinning of hair is. Not the whole scalp Edited September 10, 2007 by Sportster
Sony 1st Gear September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 wah lao.. not cheap also..
Kent Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 however absorption rate of gel form is higher than spray form, 2% suffice i guess. Probably the reason it doesn't come in 5%
Sportster Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 (edited) But I think the twin pack can last me at least 3 to 4 months if use sparingly. There are a few clones brand selling much cheaper which also contain Minoxidil. I go for Regaine as they are the "branded" one. But still cheaper then going Svenson, Yun Nam etc. I also heard of this Biolyn by a local guy who come out this product for hair loss. Waiting for feedback for those using Biolyn Svenson quoted me few thousand dollars for their hair loss treatment program. Macross1 Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 Another thing to note. Propecia and Minoxidil is only good for the crown area. It doesn't work at the front and the temple areas...
Gantan88 Clutched September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 I am about to bring up this issue: So far everyone in this thread seems to be talking more on balding problem.... how about receding hairline? How to treat receding hairline? Apply minoxydil at the temple area?
Sportster Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 You have tried the Gel 2%? Guess it should be cheaper since it is 2%. How is the overall effect?
Macross1 Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 As said, Minoxidil and propecia have very little if not neligible effects and the hairline and temple areas. The only way of regain or retore your hairline is to use Minoxidil and propecia to stablise the back of your hair and then go for hair transplants to restore the hairline. Kent Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 in my 3rd month, can see some strands of baby hair lol...but I'm having receding hairline, so will applying to the temple suffice? or i must apply beneath the hairs too?
Macross1 Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 I would suggest you take propecia too. To prevent the top of your head from going bald.
Gantan88 Clutched September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 some already say minoxydil does not work for receding hairline... maybe the only way is hair transplant... wonder how much is it and is it painful a not? Is it permanent also? Meaning if i go wash my hair, after 3 months all the transplanted hair drop off....
Wonsim Clutched September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 [reply] woow... so it's not a controlled drug in BKK? $65 is worth considering but means gotta get at least 6 boxes to make the trip there worthwhile. Macross1 Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 LOL! I think going bald is more painful than the surgery! Yes. Hair transplants are for the most part permanent. Hair transplants involves transplanting hair from the back of the head and replacing them on the bald spots. Hair on the back of the head is genitically "built" not to fall off. ↡ Advertisement
