Any cars that is in the top 8 position confirm have their engine rebuilt. There's no way to can kick out so much horse with a stock engine, even those 4G63 in those EVO used in the drag/track races.

[cool]

Not necessary...in UK their Ralliart Evo MR comes in a whopping 400bhp with a 0 - 100 time of 3.5sec. 4G63 is stock MIVEC Turbo unit seen here. The mod they have is a uprated turbine / cooling component / retune ECU and clutch. With a good handling package it may be able to move into the 2.35sec range. The driver also play apart here on track.

But nvr mind we are talking abt the stock car from both brands here. I will be looking forward to both car now. Both of them have made drastic changes on their car. But its the mod potential both car that will be the true battle.

I think very few dare to book.. Everything changed..

lol. Does it come in a 6speed manual?

Agree with you for the initial period. But i think the Evo purist will go straight for the manual tranny. Cos personally i still believe nothing can beat the real macoy.

People are worried abt the performance of the car..

Ppl dun mind ordering the previous generation Evo becuase they know the amount of goodies they can get even before they buy it.

Some are unwilling to take the risk as its running on a new platform. They rather wait and see or get the current 9.

Anyway, wanna get evo, now is a good time, alot of ppl selling evo 8 and 9.

Well i can't answer your question cos i have not and will not see all EVO and Scooby in Spore. But basis knowledge will tell us 500bhp is hard to maintain or sustain based on stock engine due to higher wear and tear (reiteriate its 'maintain' not 'attain'.). But then again i m not sure...the above is based on assumption. [;)]

I am sure there are bound to be ppl who wanna attain near to tat level with minimal damage ($$$). [rolleyes]

NOW This is a EVO killer:

Toyota Blade Master. Compact Hatchback packing a punch! BEAMS Dual VVT-i 3.5L 2GR-FE V6 280 PS with 344 NM of torque!!! sly.gif EVO and STi please step one side.

http://toyota.jp/blade/dynamism/engin/index.html

EVO IX at stock setting is already pushing 286 HP with 392 NM of torque, if modded, it'll be much higher sly.gifsly.gifsly.gif

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_La...on#Evolution_IX

I think it's the Toyota Blade Master that needs to step one side laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

I think a basic REX is much better that the blade. With simple mod you can easily attain 350hp...

However i saw some PI selling the car. Who is willing to pay for tat kinda road tax for this small car (Size to CC.)???

anyway the manual comes only with 5 manual right? like that will not shiok or not? (i never try 6 speed before but it looks fun to drive)

I am really tired of telling people that horsepower rating is different for turbocharged, NA, big capacity engines.

And the feeling is totally differnt. A turbo charged engine when rated at 280 hp has narrower power band when compared to a high capacity engine of the same rating. When manufacturer puts 280 on paper, you don't always get 280 hp. The engine will only produce 280 hp for a small window, especially turbo charged engines, UNLESS it is a light pressure turbo but it is quite rare to see one pushing out 280 with a 2 liter base engine, and LPT will lose steam towards the high end.

This is also the reason why supercars like Ferrari, AMGs, BMW M series, deploy big capacity engines. They could have easily achieve 600 hp with a turbo charged 3 liter block but the feeling is just different and the usable torque band is too narrow.

And the Toyota Blade, is as good as putting a Z33 3.5L into a Latio body. Now that is what we call a small car with a big appetite for eating up bigger cars.

There's nothing to cheer about when a big car like EVO or Z33 eat up smaller cars like a Mazda 3. But if you have a small car like a Mazda 3 or Latio, performing on par with an EVO or STi, that is something to yell in forum aloud, let alone exceeding them in terms of performance

[whip] Don't imagine performance from catalogues and figures. Feel it. If you are not as fortunate as some to feel it, then don't BS from hearsay.

you're right, base REX is already much better than the blade.

here in Sillypore, I won't pay that kind of road tax for such a small high c.c. car shakehead.gifshakehead.gifshakehead.gif

I think it's time the garhment revise on road tax classifications since we already pay for fuel tax and ERP

I have test driving my friend's EVO 8 MR with tune ECU, it's pumping out more than the stated 280bhp and the kicks comes in just below 3000rpm and all the way to the red line.

Compare to my other friend's 156 GTA 3.2L V6, it's hell of a difference in terms of power delivery, the GTA is more linear in power but in no way near the EVO's brute power.

I've also tested another friend's Fiat Stilo MS edition, being a 2.5L engine, it's quite torquey but compare to the EVO, it's a lot of difference.

I agreed to the fact that there are no replacement to displacement but here you are mentioning that the blade will be a EVO killer which most of those that are familier with power cars can be sure that it ain't true in this case.

Ferrari and BMW M series is a different league as compare to the Blade, oh, don't forget, some of AMG models may be big CC but they do comes with a 'Kompressor', comparing big CC power output, IMO, BMW will be a league up against AMG without the 'Kompressor'.

I guess both cars will be close to each other for short sprints

NA will win in many other aspects if the race involve many sharp corners and long distance....

just to name afew

1.TC cars may have turbo lag while NA more responsive

2. TC cars may encounter overheat problem for long distance with continuous max boost (but i think less chance if stock)
