Maddriver 4th Gear October 16, 2007 Share October 16, 2007 (edited) I wrote to Collinite and Just got a reply from them.. Dear Mike, Thanks for the prompt reply. Can #870 be used on car paint work and how you compare this with Insulator wax #845? Please advice. Regards Benny Dear Benny: [/color]The #870 Liquid Fleetwax & #845 Liquid Insulator Wax are two different products. The #870 Liquid Fleetwax is a product that cleans and applies a light coat fo wax all in one application. The #845 Insulator Wax is a pure liquid wax that does not contain a cleaning agent. The wax protection you receive from the #845 lasts longer than the protection you receive from the #870. I would not recommend the use of the products on the car paint work. Haurus85 Neutral Newbie October 16, 2007 Share October 16, 2007 "I would not recommend the use of the products on the car paint work. " Eh, from my interpretation of that line, doesn't 'products' refer to both #870 AND #845?
Maddriver 4th Gear October 16, 2007 Share October 16, 2007 (edited) No la.. #845 is for automotive.. #870 for fleet.. see my question to him go to here.. http://www.collinite.com/ and you can see #845 is in automotive class Edited October 16, 2007 by Maddriver
Haurus85 Neutral Newbie October 16, 2007 Share October 16, 2007 Haha, then i got confused by his wording..sometimes think too much not good ah. Anywayz i still haven got the chance to try the #101 I got, keep on raining nowadays. But used the #901 already... smells nice! See when i got time hor, probably need to get the #751 from you. I used the glaxco compound roll on my windscreen, now no more juddering, but water doesn't bead. Raining season quite bad..
Bmwcar Neutral Newbie October 17, 2007 Share October 17, 2007 Oop In this case, I will stick to #
Blacvios Neutral Newbie October 17, 2007 Share October 17, 2007 (edited) I guess the answer is as expected, they wouldn't want you to use something they formulated for use in marine for car use. They say no is to protect themselves, it doesn't mean we can't try. Benny you tried already? How about #501 any reviews? Maddriver 4th Gear October 17, 2007 Share October 17, 2007 it should something like AIO.. clean and protect and not a LSP.. He did mention #870 is not as lasting as #845 IW
Blacvios Neutral Newbie October 17, 2007 Share October 17, 2007 eh from the description its looks like a LSP leh "Collinite Liquid Fleetwax #870 is a pure wax with no cleaning properties. Therefore, clean and polish your boat before applying Fleetwax to get the best shine possible. Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner #920 cleans and preps the fiberglass to improve the bonding and durability of Collinite Liquid Fleetwax."
