This test made me order my 1st tub of 915.

Even beating RG55 and the hella ex Zym0l Royale, but again its personal preference.

I like 915 ease of application and removal.

Prices hard to beat..

Which chemical polish is able to strip off 476 since it is detergent proof?

would like to strip of 476 in March 2010 n coat fresh layers.

It is quite difficult to remove a tough wax like 476s. We recommend an IPA or APC to remove 476s. The worst scenerio will be kerosene.

Hope the above helps.

91% IPA 1:1 should be ok.

If cannot than go pure IPA, remember to let it dwell.

Booboo: You going to polish it? Or just coating new layers?

If no polishing i believe spot claying and adding layers of 476 should be fine already.

Collinite_SG: Is 915 a pure carnuaba based LSP?

Collinite_SG: Is 915 a pure carnuaba based LSP?

Hi Bro, it won't be possible to apply solid hard pure carnauba. We can say a certain percentage of carnauba content in it.

I have been using the 476s for quite a while, recently got the 846 and was thinking if I should also get the 915.

Heres my observation:

The 476 offers the wonderful protection against water marks, bird poo, tree sap, etc. Removal of bird poo/tree sap on 476 waxed panel using a proper bug removal spray you can laterally see the contaminates slide off. Buffering off the 1st layer of 476 can be pretty tough (application is done after the usual wash, clay bar and cleaner wax application (DG501)), subsequent layers will be easier though. In terms of looks, I think it is acceptable adding another wipedown using the DG aquawax seems to enhance the gloss.

The application and removal of the 846 is much easier compared to the 476. I have only used this for a short while or at least not too enough for me to comment about its protection level. I have applied this on my rims and they seems cleaner then the previous set of rims protected by 476. I have also noticed that the 846 seems to haze or sweat more compared to multiple layered 476, I was wondering if it is because 846 is a liquid wax and the higher solvent content is causing this effect. By itself, the 846 seem to have a slight advantage in the looks department compared to the 476. Again, a final wipedown with DG AW will further enhance the gloss of the 846.

There is one common thing I hate about the Collinites, the container. The 476 is contained in a can which is quite difficult to open, for those who applied by hand will have issues sticking the applicators into the can when the wax is about 50% empty. As for the 846, I find it really difficult pouring the wax out of the bottle, there were many incident where the wax spills all over the floor.

In a nutshell, this leaves me wondering if I should try layering 476 followed by 846 then finally the 915. The 476 will offer me protection from birds, tree, etc, the 846 offers protection from heat and a slightly better look and finally the 915 which offers the best of looks. What do you think?

Bro..u power la...but seriously for myself..i will choose 476 as a base and either 915 or 845 on top..i agreed that it seems the 845 has a higher solvent in it and the haze or sweat becos of it low melting point..

Many of them had 845 on their rims and feedback was is quite durable as in better heat resistance..

as a wax not comparing to a sealant..i agreed colly is very durable and has good protection as a wax..

Haha..let me know if u need 915..I left with few of them..clearing clearing..

Actually I have already decided that 845 will only be used on the rims. So I will be seeing you at ES on Sunday for a bottle of 915.
