UK CTR gets bashing from Jeremy on Top Gear!

from someone who own, sat and drove in many super cars and cars that you probably will never own or driven before, yes, i think he is more credible when he says something.

i think his is issue with giving the 'type R' badge to a car that does not perform as well as the previous 'type R' configurations. if thats the case, imho, it makes more sense.

No doubt about credibility (lucky bas****). I'm not taking a defensive stance on this car. I just find his opinions (and not limited to this car) a tad unbelievable at times and we ain't talking about performance

Considering the alarming speed of his hair loss warrants more to have second thoughts on his opinions [laugh]

here's the review between the EP3 and the FN2R on this series of top gear

One up above he euro CTR??? [laugh][laugh][laugh]

To be honest i haven't had the chance to drive the JDM CTR and until i do, i can't really comment on it without using stereotypes or possibly erroneous statements.

You want to ship one over to melb for me to try [:p][laugh] I don't mind [laugh][laugh]

if you think JC bashing the CTR is bad. How about those SG owners of the Perodua Kelisa. There was one episode, he hammered the car until got dents everywhere.. strung it upside down with a crane n a 1tonne weight attached to the front to pull out the entire contents of the engine and finally blow up the entire car with dynamite.

That was awesome, super hilarious and i remembered one true thing which he said, 'the thing he doesn't like about these korean or malaysian cars is that they are built by corporations who just want to make money' and it's true for malaysian cars sad to say. But I can't agree for korean cars, cause they have made huge leaps and bounds in terms of technology and styling.

But i really shake my head for malaysian cars. Sorry to say that man.

he didnt pull it to pull the engine off. he wanted the rear bumper to break causing the car to fall [laugh] didn't you see how surprised he was when the car came apart that way??? [laugh][laugh][laugh]

[rolleyes] The TS only posted a one sentence topic. How lame.

I saw that episode. Jeremy from Top Gear pitted the Latest UK CTR against its previous UK model which was also a hatchback.

He compared the two in terms of space, handling and performance. The previous had a surprisingly huge boot(for a hatchback), had rear independent suspension and it handles well in corners. JC threw it around the track with one rear wheel off the ground. Plus it is lighter than the latest CTR.

The later has 1hp more than the previous, the rear torsion beam is not as good as the previous independant one and plenty of understeer. The spoiler is in the middle of the rear windscreen which blocks the view.

He then put the two on track to race against each other and the previous CTR was ahead and stayed ahead...

On ending, he said he was disappointed with the latest CTR cos it's supposed to be better than the previous CTR.

Of course he put the Stig in it for the lap and its timing was ahead of the Golf GTi. [dizzy][laugh]

He did not bash the CTR like what the lame TS put it in the title. I think he's trying to mislead ppl or he dun understand what JC is blabbering.

FYI I also watched BBC's Fifth Gear(Top Gear's rival car show). They also reviewed the latest UK CTR. They mentioned it's a great GT car which is comfortable to drive and handles well as it went around the track. How easily to rev...blah blah blah.

Anyway it was a solo review on the car. [;)]

Oh yeah. I forgot it's not from BBC.

I dun own one lah but the way TS puts it is obviously having some hidden agenda.

Or could be he heard from some where and did not watch the episode.

That was why I questioned the inconsistency between Jeremy's remarks and the 03/07 Top Gear report on Hot Hatches. UK CTR was ranked number 1 with Golf GTi and Ford Focus ST behind it in this report.
