Try Cobra Mission and Knightsof Xentar, Fallout etc . You'll be amazed by how good original RPGs were in our younger days.

Incredible machines by Sierra was good too. So was this game called battle bugs. All very very good imo

fallout isn't consider old...

try 'wasteland' it was one of the popular RPGs around... after all, it was the one who 'inspired' the sequels.

The thing I like about old games is that there is more plot than just 3d graphics, anti-aliasing and openGL acceleration crap.

well,

Space Quest Series wasn't too shabby.

And how about configuring DOS those days to even run Wing Commander? That was cool.

ahaha...

No doubt wing commander 1 is cool, but it was made for the VGA age... the graphics shows up really awful on our high-res screens now...

The only alternative close to the modern day graphic technology was privateer, but well, it doesn't have the same feel as WC1. (oh yes, back then WC1 is wc.exe, and warcraft is just warcraft.exe)

There is also some games long long time ago that are cool, like Sentinel worlds, Keef the thief, SSI's AD&D games, we even host paper + pen roleplays in BBSes.... back then everyone use english and none of the 'lolxwtfkthxbai' sort of crap you see now.... sigh, those were the days.

I have an original copy of all the *Quest series by Sierra... bought it in Melbourne some years back. But not sure where I left the disc. [:(]

I remember during those times, defender of crown, magic candle, ultima series and koei games are a hit. And the ever-popular "Denzuk" and "©brain" viruses. [laugh][laugh]

but I suspect no one knows what I'm talking 'bout. [lipsrsealed]

Muah ha ha ha... Wing Comm was a machine killer! [sweatdrop] "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

I had to upgrade my RAM, my graphics card to 1024 kb, and get a mouse just to play [laugh]

I remember one of the series comes in 8 floppy!! Considering the HDD back then was only 20 MB. Now our HDD is in Terra Bytes liao!!

Also, last time all pirated one... ke ke ke... Can bring your own floppy disk to "copy", aka always say "Saturday go Katong copy games" [laugh]

ha ha... I remembered I bought a double sided 5 1/4" Floppy drive! No need to take out and change direction and that was COOL! [laugh]

Then my friend showed me his new IBM Clone PC with 3 1/2" floppy and that was like NASA nano technology back then [laugh] He even had a Winchester Sealed Hard Disk Drive which I thought was out of this world, complete with CGA display! Wow! [shocked]
