my fit lasted 156,000km clocked in three years before selling about one month ago..

CVT gearbox is still working.

I flushed at every 40,000km, and changed it at 20,000km.

a bit kiasu i know..but i thought cvt better be safe...

now my current car...i changed engine oil at 1000km and i also flush the 5 speed gearbox too..how come people run in engine and change engine oil, but dun do it to their auto tranny? i just wonder and decided to flush it at 1000km too to have peace of mind.

super kiasu

the mechanic told me that the auto tranny oil drained color looks clean, however, it seems like its powdery...

That's because the engine and ATF run in different conditions.

The oil properties for ATF and engine are quite different, that's why no need to flush auto tranny so early mah.

Unless you freq tracked ur car or run it in adverse conditions, there is no such need.

But I think singaporeans belong to 2 type, either very kiasu and do everything for their car, like serving emperor like that... or totally bochup.

Today when to an auto trans workshop for a checkup because my car encountered an incident recently where there is difficulty in shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. The problem has since disappear by itself.

Workshop recommends me to overhaul the auto trans since my car has already hit 110k mileage. Like to hear from members here, have you ever overhaul or replace your auto trans before? If so at what mileage did you overhaul. Anyone has driven their car for many years without an auto trans overhaul? If so, what is your car's current mileage or if you have sold your car, at what mileage did you sell?

Hi

I'm driving a 4 year old conti car with mileage of 126K. Recently, havin difficulty also moving off especially in the morning. When engaged in 'D', engine would 'roar' but car does not move. Only after engine is sufficiently warm up, then it will move. Is there any way to resolve this? Or is it a gearbox problem also ?

Thanks

sounds like an atf problem, when was your last change of atf?

the last time i had this problem, an atf change solved it.

So u repair???

No, my auto tranny recovers itself after a mech run through a few quick gear shifts.

ATF changed 1 month back when problem surfaced. Problem solved only for a week.

Now problem back again. Only happens on 'D' gear. 'R' is ok.

if proper spec'ed fluid was used in the flush, atf fluid level is sufficient.

best to go katc to check it out, or agent if car is still under warrenty.

Have you check the fluid level? Is it leaking? Have you chnage the filter? Go to auto specialist to have it rectify.
