Demerit Points - Advise Needed

My friend got 24 points. 3 seperate offences committed within 2 years if I didn't remember wrongly. 6+6+12 ... and he got suspended. No chance of escaping suspension I believe. But my friend did try to appeal .. his offences were pretty harmless ... he told me 6 pts for careless driving. 12 points for turning right when he shouldn't ... can't remember the other 6 pts but it's pretty minor. Your friend got 42 points ... i think no chance of escaping a suspension.

 

What happens after that though is ... my friend was suspended for 3 months but was offered to have the suspension reduced to a month if he takes some course at the driving centre. Basically, you'll be grouped together with a couple of people and asked to drive around in a car with a 'supervisor' or instructor in it.

 

So there you go ... but .. your friend ... 24 points for 1 speeding offence. How fast beyond the speed limit was he going? If I didn't remember wrongly .. it's 50 or 60km/h above the speed limit right?

The only harmless is driving on bus lane.

I will try not to exceed at all but seems not easy unless always on 2nd or 3rd lane.

 

Sometimes the road has 3 lanes and its difficult to resist not going above 70km/h esp when the road is straight and very few cars (example Mandai Road)... Nowadays I am trying to only go at most 10km/h above speed limit. Then at least can slow down pretty fast if there is any TP...

I have a friend already rec'd 18 demerit points and he got another 24 points today for speeding (speed camera) meaning total 42 points, can someone let me know how long will be the suspension ? And how much he will likely be fined? Anyway, he could escape suspend? Thanks in advance.

 

not trying to be mean... but frankly speaking, i am very glad yr friend kanna suspended!!!! another potential killer on the road man. what is he thinking? already got 18points and he still dare to speed and beat redlights? this really display his dangerous mentality and disregards for rules. 1 day got 24 points? meaning 1 day clock 2-4 offences, either beat 2 redlights, or beat 1 redlight, caught speeding above 30km/hr twice.

 

thank god yr friend is caught! sorry but no sympathy from me.. i am VERY HAPPY this type of reckless driver is not going to drive for quite some time!

My friend was driving his evo at 170km/h when he was caught and his license was suspended on the spot.

I also received a warning letter from TP saying I exceeded by 15km/h. Very heng never kenna fine and demerit points Was worried for these few days... Next time will only exceed by a bit....

Such cases IMO dun need advise. Just sit back and receive the punishment.
