CL7A you managed to get 13.72km/L is mind boggling man. [dizzy] Those I know only managed around 11km/L. My manual best I can get is only 13km/L. How did you do it? Mostly highway? [thumbsup]

doesn't matter, some say calculated value is not as accurate because sometimes u can get gas trap inside the fuel tank when u think it's already full. but nevertheless it'll still give u very close estimate. i did compared the trip computer reading with the hand calculated ones also and they are pretty close. so i would say hand calculated values are equally good [nod][thumbsup]

wah.. my HONDA is only giving me around 10-10.2km/L.

which is a far cry from urs. frown.gif

its the odyssey absolute.

2.4litre cannot compare with 2 litre.

my 1.6litre is about the same as yours.laugh.gif

Congratulations. I get 14.5 on my Subaru Legacy 2.0i on average.

So your figures are definitely real..

Just some smart driving, no need to be slow.

what is your rpm when driving?

do you pick up fast or slow?

Neutral Newbie
Honda's K20A3 is quite fuel frugal one.. JDM Accord also running this motor with a different intake manifold... Integra GSR controlled driving can reached 17km/L for auto, manual above 18km/L... (secret is the controlling switching of 12/16v configuration)

Can you elaborate more on the 12V/16V X-over?

there is quite a lot of highway but approximate 70% highway 30% normal roads.

one thing i can say is that try not to brake on the highway. let the car coast its hard to drive like that if there are a lot of roadhoggers but it works

tap brakes = having to loose (kinetic) energy to slow the car and later step on gas again to acclerate when the car in front speeds up ...

this VS

letting go of gas (earlier) or lesser pressure on gas to control veh speed in accordance to the traffic ahead...

tot quite common sence.... [sweatdrop]

yeah thats why most hybrid cars have those regenerative brakes that return power to the battery.

top gear had some tips on saving fuel. if you can find the video where jeremy drove an Audi A8 diesel from london->edinburgh->london. can pick up a few tips

1) Empty your boot of all your junk

2) Pump petrol on a cold morning

3) Play relaxing/soft music

4) Dun step accelerator on a up slope, bury the pedal on the down slope

5) Run as few automatic create comforts as possible (Cruise Control, Auto headlights, Auto Climate Control)

6) Coast the car as much as possible and not use the brakes too much.

Some others i recently picked up are pump petrol on the lowest speed setting. If you go to the pump you can see there are 3 catches to hold the lever. set to the lowest.

Pardon my ignorance and tks for sharing. But don't mind me being direct, somehow I feel your last sentence was kinda uncalled for.
