Also nothing beats Mazda suspension and handling, my experience

You have Ford to thank for the good handling and ride quality in Mazda cars

Its M3/M5 uses Ford's C1 platform design. The same design implemented in Focus and C-max mpv.

In fact, even Mazda's Duratec engines are used in Ford cars.

Strangely Mazda follows its Continental partner in having the fuel-point on the right rather than Jap's usual left.

Yup, S40 also uses the platform right ?

Agree there may be some good-influence in handling emphasis, think Mazda3, or even Ford Focus hatch, both unbeatable in their class. IMHO la.

But sometimes platform sharing is misleading, its just the base chassis thats all, the suspension setup can be totally different, as the various companies are independently run they get some leeway to decide.

BTW, always thought Duratec / Zetec etc was a Ford origin leh, is it really from Mazda ?

Better than your Stream? [hur]

:D:D

.... Yup, IMHO much better than Stream RSZ or normal, its not one of Honda's strong points la, :D:D . Just that it fits my budget.

Also just took a peep at the results, many people talk about mazda greatness, but somehow Stream still leads the poll.

When it comes to real life situation and putting hard-earned cash down, maybe let the sale figures do the talking a few months down the road.

To me, Mazda never keen to sell on volume.

Anyway, Honda SGP also never keen to sell on volume but PI are just too good to be able to sell so much Stream [:p]

Dunno why, I also feel the same way,

Seems like they view themselves more of the "specialist" car brand, they have very few ( only 2 ?? ) dealerships, and their premium pricing confirms it !! [laugh][laugh]

[laugh] They only have one main distributor and another one is dealer.

Anyway, KM only has 2 showroom too.

But I heard servicing at MM is much chaper compare to KM.

Supersonic

U are right. Tho the s40, focus n Mz3 uses the common C1 platform, the suspension components are different. (otherwise how to justify charging premium pricing for volvo?). But it's an excellent platform to begin wif. One drive between an Altis and a Mz3 or a Wish and a Mz5 will reveal all.

Neutral Newbie

Well, it may be the same platform, but Mazda was kinda cheapskate when it came to the Mazda 3.

They took the Ford Focus platform, which has independent rear suspension
