I dun have problem with people buying overpriced mazda cars. It's their money to throw.

I wonder how it feels like to sit 3rd row in Wish/Stream/M5 all the way to genting. Wonder only, don't really want to try.

I have been using my Stream to ferry my female colleagues for lunches in my 3rd rows many times and they actually enjoyed "climbing" in any time for a comfortable and cooling ride. (good air con and spacious for kids and ladies below 1.65 metres)

I agree it seems slightly ugly to climb into the 3rd row but i think it is kinda interesting to see office ladies with tight skirts getting in and out of that narrow space, so I am not complaining... laugh.gif

did u take pictures of..... sly.gif

how to take... it will be damn obvious... unless i install a hidden cam at the seats... hehehe

While Mazda 3 dropped $30k, prices of other makes like Vios, City, Civic, Stream and even the tom yam altis dropped less than $15k during the same period.

Your statement that $30k drop in price is meant only for Mazda cars

actually, just to add, the term 'driver's car' is subjective.

To some, it's feeling of pure power.

To others, may be feel of car like handling, steering feel/feedback etc.

Both honda and mazda have pros & cons.

Honda gives smooth, linear power delivery, but their steering feedback/feel loses to mazda.

Generally, honda gives better FC & resale than mazda.

But I must say mazda gives more involving driving exp overall and priority to build quality.

Bro you sure not?

My friend last time bought A6 @ $200k. Then after 2 years, new A6 selling for $160 dead.gif He need to sell at $120 before any buyer would even consider his car. That's a whopping $80k lost for 2 years dead.gif

BMW also quite jialat. smallcry.gif

$30k for 2~3 years the norm. I do not believe for conti cars the lost is lower because their base depreciation is easily $10k a year. 3 years is easily $30k le.

If I'm a buyer for conti car, I will tell in the seller face, I might as well buy a brand new one if you only selling me at a difference of $30k.

1 more Mazda 5 on the road, despite more votes for the Stream.

Any Mazda 5 owner here, will be keen to know more reviews from you.

Can read my review posted in 2005 on the Mz5 when it was first launched. wink.gif

Wah, so you are the 1st batch of people who gotten the Mazda 5.

Now the price is close to what you are paying at that time. How much is the COE and OMV then?

Are you still driving the Mazda 5 or had since change liao?

How about gave a new review, on thing such as FC, quality, like and dislike?

Yep, was quite impressed wif the way it drove during the launch that i bought the 1st shipment of Mz5. One thing i learnt tho, neber buy a mazda when it's first launched - sibei ex and price drop like crazy after 6mths. unimpressed.gif Hv since sold the Mz5 and i'm back to being a bloody wowo driver wif the T5.sly.gif

But nonetheless, the Mz5 was a great cat to drive, let alone the fact that it's a MPV. The steering is sharp and low end torque is good. Sound insulation was quite good unlike the usual buzzy, hollow-feel typical of jap cars. The interior design is pretty tasteful wif clean lines unlike some MPVs wif fake wood and beige interior - yucks and looks damn low rent. Tested the usual 'popular' MPVs b4 i bought the Mz5 and i couldn't imagine ever buying any of them - tink i would be simply bored to tears driving it everyday.

I always believe u get what u pay for. Yes, the Mz5 is not cheap. But then, it doesn't feel like it too. Didn't suffer a culture shock going from a volvo to the Mz5. The std features like the elec sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, integrated 6-disc changer gave it that upmarket feel. The excellent S40/Focus chassis itself is worth the extra $$ - car feels very planted and solid conti-feel. And the sliding doors, fantastic.

FC was abt 11km/l 65 hwy/35 city (and i'm not a pussyfoot). Servicing is cheap and can be done at authorised proserve outlets.

The downside of the Mz5 was the a/c. Realli CMI. Blower was weak and if set to speed 2 or 3, becomes damn noisy. The lack of rear a/c is it's weakest link. Now that Mazda has added rear a/c and elec sliding doors, it's realli a great package and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys driving and in the mkt for a people mover. If onli it came wif a snail and 6 airbags....rolleyes.gif

Maybe I should wait for a few more months [:p] In fact the COE and OMV of facelift version is very near to the initial launch o Mazda 5 in 05. But I have seen the price drop to about $72k with COE at $9k and OMV of $19k. So I guess the profit of MM is really huge as of now.

Look like Mazda 5 is quite good based on your review. The aircon (blower) at the front is still weak and quite noisy. But with the new a/c blower at 2nd row, maybe it is better now as no need to set to higher setting now.

snail as in psssst-psssst. rolleyes.gif

i was looking at the Mz2 as a 2nd car recently. true enuf, it dropped from $62k to abt $54k now just a few mths after launch. maybe hv to wait one more year. now just watch the Mz6 2.5R drop to $85k+ in a few mths time when the new model novelty wears off and it's forced to compete on price tho i would rate mazda a notch up in terms of premium-product feel to the other mainstream jap offerings.
