Leonknapp Clutched March 2, 2008 Share March 2, 2008 (edited) Hi Bros, Been doing some research and I have come up with a list of tyres that are supposedly good, have relatively low road noise and still cheap relative to the bigger names like Yoko and Bridgestone. I have been asking around on prices and these range around the 130 to 150 level. 1)Kumho SPT (KU31) 2)Firestone Wide Oval 3)CooperZeon ASP 4)Hankoon V8RS (Tried before, excellent but now bit pricey I think) 5)Nexen N7000 6)Maxxis MA-Z1 7)GT Radial HPX 8)Neuton NT5000 9)Federal Formoza FD2 10)Federal 595 EVO I just wonder if any of you bros have lobangs or contacts for shops that carry these tyres and possible prices you have been quoted (Especially 215/45r17 and 225/40r18). Also any new or update opinions on these tyres are much appreciated or pls add to my list if I have missed anyother brands out. PM if you have any lobangs k? Thanks! Rickyokc Neutral Newbie March 3, 2008 Share March 3, 2008 I heard Hankook Tire has overtake Yokohama in world positioning as sixth biggest producer in the world.

Leonknapp Clutched March 3, 2008 Author Share March 3, 2008 Thanks for the feedback bro! But I think u mixed the Federal Formoza with the 595. This is a comfort tyre: http://www.federaltire.com/style/content/C...21795&id=105983 As for the Neuton. I called YHI and at $150 per piece for 225/45r18 Im willing to give it a try. After all, reviews i found online from other countries seem to be quite positive and its sold in place such as Australia and the UK which have higher awareness of tyre tech. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=221930 http://www.neobrothers.co.uk/product_info....products_id=276 Cheers! Furrynadz 5th Gear March 4, 2008 Share March 4, 2008 formoza : nope its INDEED a drift tyre, try cornering in wet or sandy/stoney road NT 5000 : u are most welcome to try and give field report, when some joker in a black red plate hyundai matrix with bull bar front and rear and 14 inch steel rims, loaded with full assortment of a family of 7 decides to cut ur lane and ebrake in front of u
Fresh Clutched March 4, 2008 Share March 4, 2008 I thought the formoza FD2 is quite a new tyre, has anyone reviewed it yet?

Robertoon Neutral Newbie March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 Hankook is producing very good quality tyre....Many user commented that Hankook is under-rated for its good quality
Sevnrg Neutral Newbie March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 9)Federal Formoza FD2 , federal good for drift10)Federal 595 EVO , see 9) of the whole lot here, take SPT and V8RS i beg to differ. Formoza FD2 is a budget tire if im not wrong 17" arnd $100 bucks only of course the grip sucks. on the other hand the 595evo is second best the Federal range and it IS a supper grippy tire
Rtth84 1st Gear March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 its not under-priced and i do not think the price is value for money.
Furrynadz 5th Gear March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 thats not wat i heard have superb handling conti cars feedback 595 skidder and drifter something must be wrong, or the tyre is simply hopeless when matched to supercars, means only suitable for hyundai/kia cars
Sevnrg Neutral Newbie March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 (edited) lol you seemed very biased "superb handling conti cars" "hyundai/kia cars" maybe you could give more details? i myself have tried the 595evo, but i used the 595RS. and i must say the grip is super-glue like Edited March 5, 2008 by Sevnrg
Tkseah Turbocharged March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 Hankook tyre may be good, but it's not priced competitively in SG. In other countries, Hankook is relatively cheaper than other big brands but in SG it's on equal price band..
Furrynadz 5th Gear March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 i stating the facts maybe it does perform well for run of the mill cars but my ex colleague 1.3 HYUNDAI accent feedback it was worse than bfg-sport, just for one example
Robertoon Neutral Newbie March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 Just comparing the brand and not the model is unfair....LEt me know if you ahve more info...i will look into it
Robertoon Neutral Newbie March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 its not surprising the feedback is worse than BFG..Coz you are comparing different spec tyre but just with same size..... Thats why buying tyre can be nightmare if the tyre seller cannot help you to choose the right tyre for your driving...Hankook have 13models here thats for the reason
Tkseah Turbocharged March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 Take the example when I was choosing between the K415 & GR80 for my ride. User's feedback suggest that K415 may perform as well as GR80. In websites from other countries (example below), K415 is priced lower than GR80 and would have made a good buy, but since it is priced the same as GR80 in SG, i went for the GR80 instead. http://www.pokrishka.ru/searchtype.html?of...&p=60&r=15&su=1 ↡ Advertisement
