Hi Bros,

Been doing some research and I have come up with a list of tyres that are supposedly good, have relatively low road noise and still cheap relative to the bigger names like Yoko and Bridgestone. I have been asking around on prices and these range around the 130 to 150 level.

1)Kumho SPT (KU31)

2)Firestone Wide Oval

3)CooperZeon ASP

4)Hankoon V8RS (Tried before, excellent but now bit pricey I think)

5)Nexen N7000

6)Maxxis MA-Z1

7)GT Radial HPX

8)Neuton NT5000

9)Federal Formoza FD2

10)Federal 595 EVO

I just wonder if any of you bros have lobangs or contacts for shops that carry these tyres and possible prices you have been quoted (Especially 215/45r17 and 225/40r18). Also any new or update opinions on these tyres are much appreciated or pls add to my list if I have missed anyother brands out. PM if you have any lobangs k? Thanks!

6)Maxxis MA-Z1 = ok and pretty low noise

7)GT Radial HPX , hard compound, noisy

8)Neuton NT5000 = u trust design in sg product? u think yhi designed? i think designed in china and slap with design in sg sticker

10)Federal 595 EVO , see 9)

Thanks for the feedback bro! But I think u mixed the Federal Formoza with the 595. This is a comfort tyre:

As for the Neuton. I called YHI and at $150 per piece for 225/45r18 Im willing to give it a try. After all, reviews i found online from other countries seem to be quite positive and its sold in place such as Australia and the UK which have higher awareness of tyre tech.

formoza : nope its INDEED a drift tyre, try cornering in wet or sandy/stoney road

NT 5000 : u are most welcome to try and give field report, when some joker in a black red plate hyundai matrix with bull bar front and rear and 14 inch steel rims, loaded with full assortment of a family of 7 decides to cut ur lane and ebrake in front of u

i beg to differ. Formoza FD2 is a budget tire if im not wrong 17" arnd $100 bucks only of course the grip sucks.

on the other hand the 595evo is second best the Federal range and it IS a supper grippy tire

thats not wat i heard

have superb handling conti cars feedback 595 skidder and drifter

something must be wrong, or the tyre is simply hopeless when matched to supercars, means only suitable for hyundai/kia cars

lol you seemed very biased

"superb handling conti cars"

"hyundai/kia cars"

maybe you could give more details?

i myself have tried the 595evo, but i used the 595RS. and i must say the grip is super-glue like

Turbocharged

Hankook tyre may be good, but it's not priced competitively in SG. In other countries, Hankook is relatively cheaper than other big brands but in SG it's on equal price band.. [:/]

i stating the facts

maybe it does perform well for run of the mill cars

but my ex colleague 1.3 HYUNDAI accent feedback it was worse than bfg-sport, just for one example

its not surprising the feedback is worse than BFG..Coz you are comparing different spec tyre but just with same size.....

Thats why buying tyre can be nightmare if the tyre seller cannot help you to choose the right tyre for your driving...Hankook have 13models here thats for the reason

Turbocharged

Take the example when I was choosing between the K415 & GR80 for my ride. User's feedback suggest that K415 may perform as well as GR80. In websites from other countries (example below), K415 is priced lower than GR80 and would have made a good buy, but since it is priced the same as GR80 in SG, i went for the GR80 instead.
