Glorification and idol workships are trademarks of inferiority complex and they gotta find solace somewhere.... in this case.. the church.

I know GOD loves me... but he doesnt lobe my $$.

This mega church at suntec right? I heard they going to join hands with Capitaland to build a mega shopping centre in Buona Vista. Currently they are alr operating the Marine Cove..

Think theese churches strategy is the same. Making church-going a fun experience such that it attracts the younger population into joining them (many of CHC members are less than 30 yrs of age). The younger ones are also more easily influenced when it comes to idol worshipping and stuff like tat.. [shakehead]

I was rather surprised to learn though that my big boss is a member of this mega church in town.

That one....

Last Sunday I was at Carrefour. My wife asked me.. How come so many people upstairs?

I replied: Church Lor!

She said: Wah danz.... in a commercial mall?

I replied: yeah... so many followers, that why become so rich!

This fat lady next to me chided me loudly: IT IS BECAUSE GOD LOVE US!!!!

Let's not talk about the refunds, YET.

If that person is in such dire needs with medical conditions, shouldn't the church at least lend a helping hand?

Especially when he contributed to the church before.

yup agree! [nod]

I myself is not a christian and not trying to start a religion war here.

But somehow i feel some churches can effectively persuade or hypnotise their followers to make donation religiously and voluntarily every month, like paying for yr mobile or broadband subscription like that. Then they use the money collected and spend lavishly on building nice nice churches and their supporting 'units'. So commercialised. Have they already forgotten the very reason why their belief exist in the first place? The threadstarter ... i pity him.

haha...if it was me, I will reply her: "so it seems god only love the followers of these two churches in Singapore since the other churches aren't very well-off".. [laugh]

Yup. I feel they are preaching things that people like to hear eg. wealth, good health, lots of blessing, everything nice, etc..... They are not 100% wrong....but the over emphasis on one aspect and neglect others are, in some way, distort the faith.

Instead of me telling you about it, y not u tel me about it? Tell me if anyone in yr church attempt to 'educate' you in donating like paying subscription fee and if yes, how do they do it? laugh.gif

I also wonder wat do you people do when u attend cell groups, are those 'educating' sessions?

I still rem the time when I had a discussion with this fren whom is a member of this church. I was asking her why is it that Sun as a pastor, seems rather preoccupied abt personal fame and concentrating so much in ekeing out a career in pop singing, so much so that she hardly appear in church services (from what I heard thru other church goers) anymore? She reply me 'Sun is trying to connect with every section of the population with her songs and save the world'. Erm...but wat kind of songs is she singing in the first place? Its not even gospel. Mostly are love songs...
