Leech Clutched June 5, 2009 Share June 5, 2009 Bro, all the best with your new investment. Am interested in the actual mileage / FC of the Touran. Could you pls share? Are you a heavy footer? Thot the Touran is supposed to give good FC?
Windchoco 1st Gear June 5, 2009 Share June 5, 2009 Just installed nanoballs today in my touran 1.4L. Peter, who is from Concern Auto was very helpful and informative Took 1.5 hrs to install 2x100g, thru the opening of the fuel cap, using a hose and air pressure to push the balls thru. Was adviced to pump full tonight and leave the fuel to react with Nanoball overnight. This is the preferred method, especially one does not like to pump at half tank. As I usually drive the car to almost empty tank, this advice is useful. My mileage before pumping petrol was 453km, with full tank pumped until 48L. So FC is 9.43km/L. From tomorrow onwards, will monitor and report the FC here. Hope this works, really taking a $400 risk ! hehe, anyway, cleaner burning means cleaner combustion.... cleaner for Mother Earth Bro... JUST in case your $400 risk doesn't work out, please remember to share share here and save our $400s... LOL
Vextan 1st Gear June 5, 2009 Share June 5, 2009 actually can normal moth balls do the trick ? they are said to have the same effect, i.e. to boost the octane level hence the power.

Ak7887 1st Gear June 5, 2009 Share June 5, 2009 (edited) did gave my comments in another thread. Search for `touran' and you can see the thread. I also gave my 5 cent opinion of the car when I bought the car almost 5 months ago in sgcarmart too. Basically, the car touts as a fuel saving 7 seater. It really depends on which angle you look at it. On a negative side, it takes up more fuel (9.5km/L) versus my previous Civic 2.0 (10km/L). Furthermore, Civic can take in 92 while Touran is 95. I may have higher start-stop driving than highway though. That make Touran slightly more thirsty, probably also its a heavier car. I'm not heavy foot. The other thing is that there's a bit of engine delay when engaging the gears, also when moving off before the turbo kicks in. On the positive side, it is really frugal on highway. Civic probably clocks higher FC than Touran on highway driving, and I'm sure of this. Last week, I did more highway driving and Touran clocked 11km/L or more. Overall, its a very functional car and lots of compartments. Another thing is its the pedal shift. It reacts immediately when flicked and you don't need to move your gear to S to do that, unlike Civic. Hence very good for engine brake in cornering. To me, more positives for Touran. Needless to say, the power.... cool. That is the reason why I went for Nanoball. Thought the loss is $400 if it doesn't work. If it does, then I can drive like 98 with just 95, and probably some savings too. Peter was honest with me. It is not a miracle product and it also depends on how you drive. Will update all after the first week of driving with Nanoball.......stay tuned!! Edited June 5, 2009 by Ak7887

Elfenstar 3rd Gear June 5, 2009 Share June 5, 2009 grow wings, dig grave, whats the difference? both end up 6 feet underground anyway. Theres a difference... the first hopefully you wont crash... the second... well... lets just say your fuel pump, lines, rail and injectors won't be too happy. Ak7887 1st Gear June 6, 2009 Share June 6, 2009 update after 2 days of using nanoball. used quarter tank liao. Usual mileage is about 130km. But this is only 77km! Wonder if nanoball needs some time to get working? Peter did tell me results will show after 1 week. Will continue to update. ↡ Advertisement
