Casiraghi Neutral Newbie June 11, 2008 Share June 11, 2008 Heh... if you are looking for a car with very light steering I don't think you can go much further than an Altis. The Altis 2008 steering is really very light at low speed - you can probably steer with your little finger when you are moving around in a MSCP - but it does firm up quite a bit when you move to the highway around 80km/h. I have to admit that it does feel a bit odd initially, the problem is that it grows on me and when I swap to the old Altis - that's when you feel like you are literally turning the car itself! But I'm enjoying the Altis more and more as I drive it... should go test drive too.
Mcf1 Neutral Newbie June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 I hate hydraulic steering, is heavy when the speed is low or during parking.
Mcf1 Neutral Newbie June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 If you watch F1, Is like driving a F1 car and I guess you'll not go back to heavy steering again.

Friendstar Supercharged June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 Have to admit that the electric assisted steering is probably the most evil of evil ploys to get you to stick to toyotas for your next ride as well. I swapped the Altis 2008 with the G9 Altis just last Friday - and I was almost huffing and puffing as I went up one of those roundabout carparks. I'm just getting too used to super light steering. But no worries about FC lah - after your first 1k and then 5k and when you finally switch to synthetic engine oil that's when the difference really comes for the car. If not for the oil prices I might actually head out just to cruise and enjoy some jazz music while on the move. So how's your polishing and all that - I'm still washing my car weekly and enjoying the nice shine! my friend's 1.6 civic auto currently running in at 675km odometer reading already achieves 12.2km/litre. really donno how featherlight his right foot is. Friendstar Supercharged June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 bros, will using synthetic really improve fuel consumption? i'm curious to know why. i mean its proven by many... i just wan to know the scientific reason. thanks!
Friendstar Supercharged June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 Mine grey silver. The most common color. i see 3 greys for every 1 black/white/silver. Urs is actually not v common. My fren's is black which i think there are some drawbacks. It makes the car look smaller than it is cos it hides some of the car's body lines. The nicest so far is still white. But i think grey silver is a close 2nd haha Your average FC? just curious... so what if the car "looks" smaller? u mean u bought altis for the physical presence on the road ah? Lala81 Hypersonic June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 No. i just mean cos of it's color, it changes the shape of the body sometimes when u look at it in dimmer lighting. Lol its just a comparison betw colors. No need to add in some suan inside la. Lol. U buy a toyota until so bitter for what?
Watwheels Supersonic June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 Improve FC depends on viscosity of the oil. More "diluted" the oil less resistance for the moving parts but increase wear hence more frequent oil change. U just direct your spendings from FC to oil change. Sama sama. There's always some kind of compromise.
