I don't think so.

I agree that grip is essential

but to deflate the tyres for the grip up/down slope is not necessary bah.

have you decide which car to go?

I think both are ok.

for this time, with my family. I'm going up with my Picnic.

I realized that my M3SP with 16inch is slightly bumpy

suspension wise, picnic is softer and perhaps more comfortable.

ya bro, that time my family took a "Ba Wang Che" from Pudu Raya. The driver's old corona chiong up Genting like nothing [sweatdrop]

actually our cars have no problem meeting that timing, try one time and u will know that we'll be overtaking most of the cars if we drive above 4.5k rpm at all time. most ppl just cruise leisurely there [nod]

Is it advisable to deflate the tyres for more grip going up Genting?

Not unless you're headed off road into soft soil/sand.

It's a normal road up to Genting. Don't know what the fuss is all about. Even my previous car, a Subaru TS (stock at 95bhp), with 4 heavy adults, full boot, and 4 bicycles on the roof can make it up.

Just take you time and enjoy the drive.

Just came back from Genting last month.

Shared some pic.

I was in front, blue Mazda. My brother-in-law took the pic from behind.

[laugh][laugh] this was not the worst.

Last year when I went Genting, the mist/fog was so thick that the visibility was only 5 meter, even with fog light/high beam also useless.

One word, dont speed when you are not familiar with the road.

Never try before driving to Genting at night, but reckon should be thrilling.

At certain section of the road to Genting, need to engage 1st gear. In general, most of the time was in 2nd gear.

You should try driving to Genting at least one time. Something that we, Sg dont have.

Mist/fog only early in the morning, or after rain.

When retreiving my car in First World Hotel around 7am, the carpark was so misty/foggy.
